لَيْسَ شَيْءٌ أَكْرَمُ عَلَى اللَّهِ مِنَ الدُّعَاءَ
Nothing is more honoured by Allah than supplication
2 أَفْضَلُ الْعِبَادَةِ هُوَ الدُّعَاءُThe best worship is supplication
3 مَنْ لَا يَدْعُو اللَّهَ يَغْضَبْ عَلَيْهِAllah is angry with whoever does not call upon Him
4 الدُّعَاءُ سِلَاحُ الْمُؤْمِنِ وَعِمَادُ الدِّينِSupplication is the weapon of the believer and the pillar of the religion
5 الدُّعَاءُ يَنْفَعُ مِمَّا نَزَلَ وَمِمَّا لَمْ يَنْزِلْSupplication benefits against what has befallen and what has not yet befallen
6 لَا يَرُدُّ الْقَدَرَ إِلَّا الدُّعَاءُNothing repels the decree except supplication
7 الدُّعَاءُ يَنْفَعُ مِمَّا نَزَلَ وَمِمَّا لَمْ يَنْزَلْSupplication benefits against what has befallen and what has not yet befallen
8 لَا يُقْبَلُ دُعَاءٌ مِنْ قَلْبٍ غَافِلٍ لَاهٍNo supplication is accepted from a heedless, distracted heart
9 لَا يَهْلِكُ مَعَ الدُّعَاءِ أَحَدٌNo one is destroyed while making supplication
10 يَدْعُو اللَّهُ بِالْمُؤْمِنِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِAllah will call for the believer on the Day of Resurrection
11 مَنْ كَانَ يُحِبُّ أَنْ يَعْلَمَ مَنْزِلَتَهُ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ فَلْيَنْظُرْ كَيْفَ مَنْزِلَةُ اللَّهِ عِنْدَهُWhoever wishes to know his standing with Allah, let him look at the standing of Allah with him
12 فَضِيلَةُ مَجَالِسِ الذِّكْرِThe virtue of gatherings of remembrance
13 مُدَاوَمَةُ الذِّكْرِConstancy in remembrance
14 سَبْقُ الْمُفَرِّدِينَThe Mufarridun have gone ahead
15 أَنَا مَعَ عَبْدِي إِذَا هُوَ ذَكَرَنِي وَتَحَرَّكَتْ بِي شَفَتَاهُI am with My servant when he remembers Me and his lips move with My mention
16 مَا عَمِلَ آدَمِيٌّ مِنْ عَمَلٍ أَنْجَى لَهُ مِنْ عَذَابِ اللَّهِ مِنْ ذِكْرِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّNo deed of a son of Adam saves him more from the punishment of Allah than the remembrance of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic
17 قَالَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ : عَبْدِي أَنَا عِنْدَ ظَنِّكَ بِيAllah, the Mighty and Majestic, says: My servant, I am as you think of Me
18 إِنَّ اللَّهَ حَيِيٌّ كَرِيمٌ يَسْتَحِي مِنْ عَبْدِهِ أَنْ يَبْسُطَ إِلَيْهِ يَدَيْهِ ثُمَّ يَرُدَّهُمَا خَائِبَتَيْنِAllah is modest and generous; He is too modest to let His servant raise his hands to Him and then return them empty
19 مَنْ فُتِحَ لَهُ فِي الدُّعَاءِ مِنْكُمْ فُتِحَتْ لَهُ أَبْوَابُ الْجَنَّةِWhoever among you has the door of supplication opened for him, the gates of Paradise are opened for him
20 أَفْضَلُ الذِّكْرِ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ ، وَأَفْضَلُ الدُّعَاءِ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِThe best remembrance is La ilaha illallah and the best supplication is Alhamdulillah
21 اسْتِفْتَاحُ الدُّعَاءِ بسُبْحَانَ رَبِّيَ الْعَلِيِّ الْأَعْلَى الْوَهَّابِOpening the supplication with "Glory be to my Lord, the Exalted, the Most High, the Bestower"
22 الِظُّوا بِيَا ذَا الْجَلَالِ وَالْإِكْرَامِHold fast to "O Possessor of Majesty and Honour"
23 أَكْثِرُوا ذِكْرَ اللَّهِ حَتَّى يَقُولُوا مَجْنُونٌRemember Allah so much that they say he is mad
24 مَنْ كَانَ آخِرُ كَلَامِهِ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَWhoever's last words are La ilaha illallah will enter Paradise
25 رَفْعُ الْأَيْدِي عِنْدَ قَوْلِ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَأَمْرُ غَلْقِ الْبَابِRaising the hands when saying La ilaha illallah and the command to close the door
26 مَنْ قَالَ : لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ ، لَهُ الْمُلْكُ ، وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ ، وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ عَشْرَ مَرَّاتٍ فَهُوَ كَعِتَاقِ نَسَمَةٍWhoever says ten times "There is no god but Allah alone, with no partner; His is the dominion and His is the praise, and He has power over all things" is like one who frees a slave
27 أَحَبُّ الْكَلَامِ إِلَى اللَّهِ سُبْحَانَ رَبِّي وَبِحَمْدِهِThe words most beloved to Allah are "Glory be to my Lord and praise be to Him"
28 مَنْ قَالَ : سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ الْعَظِيمِ غُرِسَتْ لَهُ نَخْلَةٌ فِي الْجَنَّةِWhoever says "Glory be to Allah the Magnificent", a palm tree is planted for him in Paradise
29 تَفْسِيرُ سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِThe explanation of Subhan Allah
30 أَوَّلُ مَنْ يُدْعَى إِلَى الْجَنَّةِ الَّذِينَ يَحْمَدُونَ اللَّهَ فِي السَّرَّاءِ ، وَالضَّرَّاءِThe first to be called to Paradise are those who praise Allah in prosperity and adversity
31 أَفْضَلُ الذِّكْرِ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَأَفْضَلُ الدُّعَاءِ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِThe best remembrance is La ilaha illallah and the best supplication is Alhamdulillah
32 أَفْضَلُ التَّسْبِيحِ وَالتَّحْمِيدِ وَالتَّهْلِيلِThe best forms of tasbih, tahmid and tahlil
33 اسْمُ اللَّهِ الْأَعْظَمُ الَّذِي إِذَا دُعِيَ بِهِ أَجَابَ وَإِذَا سُئِلَ بِهِ أَعْطَىThe Greatest Name of Allah, by which, when He is called upon, He answers, and when He is asked, He gives
34 اسْمُ اللَّهِ الْأَكْبَرُ رَبِّ رَبِّThe greatest name of Allah: "Rabbi, Rabbi"
35 اسْمُ اللَّهِ الْأَعْظَمُ الْحَيُّ الْقَيُّومُThe Greatest Name of Allah is "al-Hayy al-Qayyum"
36 مَنْ دَعَا بِدَعْوَةِ ذِي النُّونِ اسْتَجَابَ اللَّهُ لَهُWhoever supplicates with the supplication of Dhu al-Nun, Allah answers him
37 أَيُّمَا مُسْلِمٍ دَعَا بِدَعْوَةِ يُونُسَ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ فِي مَرَضِهِ أَرْبَعِينَ مَرَّةً فَمَاتَ فِي مَرَضِهِ ذَلِكَ أُعْطِيَ أَجْرَ شَهِيدٍ ، وَإِنْ بَرَأَ بَرَأَ ، وَقَدْ غُفِرَ لَهُ جَمِيعُ ذُنُوبِهِAny Muslim who supplicates with the supplication of Yunus (peace be upon him) forty times in his illness and dies in that illness is given the reward of a martyr
38 دُعَاؤُهُ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمَ أُحُدٍThe supplication of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) on the day of Uhud
39 الدُّعَاءُ بَعْدَ أَكْلِ الطَّعَامِ وَلُبْسِ الثَّوْبِSupplication after eating food and putting on a garment
40 الدُّعَاءُ لِدَفْعِ الْكَرْبِSupplication for relief from distress
41 دُعَاءُ دَفْعِ الْهَمِّ وَالْغَمِّSupplication for removing worry and grief
42 دُعَاءُ دَفْعِ الْكَرْبِ الْمَأْمُورُ بِتَعَلُّمِهِThe supplication for relief from distress that one is commanded to learn
43 دُعَاءٌ يُذْهِبُ الْهَمَّ وَالْحُزْنَA supplication that removes worry and sorrow
44 دُعَاءُ حُصُولِ النَّفْعِ بِالنَّفْعِSupplication for attaining benefit
45 دُعَاءُ وِقَايَةِ شَرِّ النَّفْسِSupplication for protection from the evil of the self
46 فَضِيلَةُ الِاسْتِغْفَارِThe virtue of seeking forgiveness
47 الِاسْتِغْفَارُ وَالتَّوْبَةُ مِائَةَ مَرَّةٍ فِي الْيَوْمِSeeking forgiveness and repenting one hundred times a day
48 وَرَدَ اسْتِغْفَارٌ آخَرُAnother wording of seeking forgiveness
49 فَضْلُ الِاسْتِغْفَارِThe virtue of seeking forgiveness
50 بَخٍ بَخٍ بِخَمْسٍ مَا أَثْقَلَهُنَّ فِي الْمِيزَانِWell done, well done for five things; how heavy they are in the Balance
51 فَضِيلَةُ التَّسْبِيحِThe virtue of glorifying Allah
52 بَيَانُ الْبَاقِيَاتِ الصَّالِحَاتِExplanation of the enduring good deeds
53 فَضْلُ التَّكْبِيرِ وَالتَّسْبِيحِ وَالتَّحْمِيدِThe virtue of saying Allahu akbar, Subhan Allah and al-hamdu lillah
54 مَا يَقُولُ إِذَا أَصْبَحَ وَإِذَا أَمْسَىWhat one says in the morning and in the evening
55 فَضِيلَةُ التَّحْمِيدِ وَالتَّسْبِيحِ وَالتَّهْلِيلِ مِائَةَ مَرَّةٍThe virtue of praising, glorifying and declaring the oneness of Allah one hundred times
56 مَا مِنْ عَبْدٍ يَقُولُ بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الَّذِي لَا يَضُرُّ . . إِلَخْThe virtue of the servant who says "Bismillah alladhi la yadurru"
57 دُعَاءُ قَضَاءِ الدَّيْنِSupplication for paying off debt
58 حَقُّ اللَّهِ عَلَى الْعِبَادِ وَحَقُّ الْعِبَادِ عَلَى اللَّهِThe right of Allah over His servants and the right of the servants over Allah
59 دُعَاءُ الصُّبْحِ وَالْمَسَاءِSupplication of the morning and evening
60 مِنْ سَعَادَةِ ابْنِ آدَمَ اسْتِخَارَتُهُ إِلَى اللَّهِPart of the happiness of the son of Adam is seeking guidance from Allah (istikharah)
61 مَنْ قَالَ : رَضِيتُ بِاللَّهِ رَبًّا . . . إِلَخْWhoever says: I am pleased with Allah as Lord
62 مَنْ قَالَ إِذَا أَصْبَحَ مِائَةَ مَرَّةٍ وَإِذَا أَمْسَى مِائَةَ مَرَّةٍ سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ وَبِحَمْدِهِWhoever says Subhan Allah wa bihamdihi one hundred times in the morning and one hundred times in the evening
63 دُعَاءُ وَقْتِ الْخُرُوجِ مِنَ الْبَيْتِSupplication when leaving the house
64 دُعَاءُ رَدِّ الْبَصَرِSupplication for the restoration of sight
65 كَانَ مِنْ دُعَاءِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَبِّ أَعِنِّيAmong the supplications of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): My Lord, help me
66 الدُّعَاءُ الْجَامِعُThe comprehensive supplication
67 أَمْرُ الرَّبِّ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى نَبِيَّهُ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ يَقُولَ : " اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ الطَّيِّبَاتِ وَتَرْكَ الْمُنْكَرَاتِ "The Lord's command to His Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) to say: O Allah, I ask You for doing good deeds and abandoning evil deeds
68 الدُّعَاءُ الْجَامِعُ الْكَامِلُThe complete comprehensive supplication
69 الدُّعَاءُ الَّذِي عَلَّمَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ سَلْمَانَ الْخَيْرَThe supplication the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) taught Salman (may Allah be pleased with him)
70 دُعَاءُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ الصِّدِّيقِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُThe supplication of Abu Bakr al-Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him)
71 دُعَاءُ عَمَّارِ بْنِ يَاسِرٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ الَّذِي كَانَ يَدْعُو بِهِ فِي الصَّلَاةِThe supplication of Ammar bin Yasir (may Allah be pleased with him) which he used to make in prayer
72 كَانَ يَدْعُو اللَّهُمَّ احْفَظْنِي بِالْإِسْلَامِ قَائِمًاThe Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to supplicate: O Allah, protect me with Islam while standing
73 مَا مِنْ قَلْبٍ إِلَّا بَيْنَ أُصْبُعَيْنِ مِنْ أَصَابِعِ الرَّحْمَنِThere is no heart except that it is between two of the fingers of the Most Merciful
74 كَانَ يُكْثِرُ أَنْ يَقُولُ : " يَا مُقَلِّبَ الْقُلُوبِ ثَبِّتْ قَلْبِي عَلَى دِينِكَ "The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would often say: O Turner of hearts, keep my heart firm upon Your religion
75 دُعَاءُ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُThe supplication of Abdullah bin Masud (may Allah be pleased with him)
76 دُعَاءُ رَدِّ الْبَصَرِ وَقَبُولُهُ مَعًاSupplication for the restoration of sight and its acceptance together
77 الدُّعَاءُ الَّذِي عُلِّمَ بُرَيْدَةُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُThe supplication the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) taught Buraydah (may Allah be pleased with him)
78 كَانَ مِنْ دُعَائِهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " اللَّهُمَّ مَتِّعْنِي بِسَمْعِي وَبَصَرِي "Among the supplications of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): O Allah, let me enjoy my hearing and my sight
79 الدُّعَاءُ الْجَامِعُ الَّذِي يُخْتَمُ بِهِ الْمَجْلِسُThe comprehensive supplication with which a gathering is concluded
80 دُعَاءٌ بَعْدَ الْفَرَاغِ مِنَ الْأَكْلِSupplication after finishing eating
81 فَضْلُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَأَمْرُ اللَّهِ بِهِ مُوسَى عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُThe virtue of La ilaha illa Allah and Allah's command to Musa (peace be upon him) concerning it
82 رُجْحَانُ بِطَاقَةِ كَلِمَةِ الشَّهَادَةِ عَلَى سِجِلَّاتِ الذُّنُوبِ فِي الْمِيزَانِThe card of the testimony of faith outweighing the registers of sins in the Balance
83 سُؤَالُ الْعَفْوِ وَالْعَافِيَةِAsking for pardon and well-being
84 كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُعَلِّمُ مَنْ أَسْلَمَThe Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to teach those who embraced Islam supplications
85 الدُّعَاءُ فِي لَيْلَةِ الْقَدْرِSupplication on Laylat al-Qadr
86 التَّعَوُّذُ مِنَ الْجُبْنِ وَغَيْرِهِSeeking refuge from cowardice and other things
87 التَّعَوُّذُ مِنْ غَلَبَةِ الدَّيْنِ وَغَلَبَةِ الْعَدُوِّSeeking refuge from the burden of debt and being overpowered by the enemy
88 التَّعَوُّذُ مِنْ زَوَالِ النِّعْمَةِ وَالْفَقْرِSeeking refuge from the loss of blessings and from poverty
89 التَّعَوُّذُ مِنَ الْهَدْمِ وَالتَّرَدِّيSeeking refuge from being crushed and from falling
90 التَّعَوُّذُ مِنَ الْكُفْرِ وَالدَّيْنِSeeking refuge from disbelief and debt
91 التَّعَوُّذُ مِنْ جَارِ السُّوءِ فِي دَارِ الْمُقَامَةِSeeking refuge from a bad neighbour in the permanent abode
92 التَّعَوُّذُ مِنْ شَرِّ السَّمْعِ وَالْبَصَرِSeeking refuge from the evil of hearing and sight
93 التَّعَوُّذُ مِنْ طَمَعٍ يَهْدِي إِلَى طَبْعٍSeeking refuge from greed that leads to a stain on the heart
94 الدُّعَاءُ الْجَامِعُ بِرِوَايَةِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُThe comprehensive supplication as narrated by Ibn Masud (may Allah be pleased with him)
95 التَّعَوُّذُ مِنْ أَرْبَعٍSeeking refuge from four things
96 رَفْعُ الْيَدَيْنِ عِنْدَ الدُّعَاءِRaising the hands when supplicating
97 مَسْحُ الْوَجْهِ بِالْيَدَيْنِ بَعْدَ الدُّعَاءِWiping the face with the hands after supplication
98 السُّؤَالُ بِبَطْنِ الْأَكُفِّAsking with the palms of the hands
99 الِاسْتِغْفَارُ عِنْدَ الْقِيَامِ مِنَ الْمَجْلِسِSeeking forgiveness when getting up from a gathering
100 دُعَاءُ كَفَّارَةِ الْمَجَالِسِThe supplication of expiation for gatherings
101 دُعَاءُ قَضَاءِ الدَّيْنِSupplication for paying off debt
102 دُعَاءُ دُخُولِ السُّوقِSupplication when entering the market
103 كَانَ يُعْجِبُهُ الْجَوَامِعُ مِنَ الدُّعَاءِThe Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) liked comprehensive supplications
104 الِاعْتِدَاءُ فِي الدُّعَاءِ وَالطَّهُورُTransgressing the limits in supplication and in purification
105 دُعَاءُ وَقْتِ الِاسْتِيقَاظِ مِنَ اللَّيْلِSupplication when waking at night
106 دُعَاءُ وَقْتِ الِاضْطِجَاعِSupplication when lying down
107 التَّعَوُّذُ مِنْ فِتْنَةِ الْقَبْرِ وَغَيْرِهِSeeking refuge from the trial of the grave and other things
108 المُنْجِيَاتُ الْبَاقِيَاتُ الصَّالِحَاتُThe saving enduring good deeds
109 مَنْ قَالَ لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ كَانَ دَوَاءً مِنْ تِسْعَةٍ وَتِسْعِينَ دَاءً أَيْسَرُهَا الْهَمُّWhoever says La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah, it is a cure for ninety-nine ailments, the least of which is worry
110 دُعَاءُ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِعَمِّهِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ بِالشِّفَاءِ وَإِجَابَتُهُ مَعًاThe supplication of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) for the healing of his uncle Abu Talib and its being answered
111 أَفْضَلُ الدُّعَاءِ دُعَاءُ الْمَرْءِ لِنَفْسِهِThe best supplication is a person's supplication for himself
112 دُعَاءُ مَغْفِرَةِ الذُّنُوبِ الْكَثِيرَةِSupplication for the forgiveness of many sins
113 إِنَّ لِلَّهِ مَلَكًا مُوَكَّلًا بِمَنْ يَقُولُ يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَAllah has an angel appointed over whoever says: Ya Arham al-Rahimin
114 أَمْرُ إِكْثَارِ الدُّعَاءِ فِي الرَّخَاءِThe command to supplicate much in times of ease
115 الدُّعَاءُ الْعَظِيمُ النَّفْعِA supplication of great benefit
116 الدُّعَاءُ إِذَا شُفِيَ مِنْ مَرَضٍ وَإِذَا قَدِمَ مِنْ سَفَرٍSupplication on recovering from illness and on returning from a journey
117 مَا يُقَالُ إِذَا أَصْبَحَ وَأَمْسَىWhat is said in the morning and evening
118 دُعَاءُ إِذَا أَوَى إِلَى فِرَاشِهِSupplication when going to bed
119 الدُّعَاءُ إِذَا أَتَى فِرَاشَهُSupplication when coming to one's bed
120 دُعَاءٌ يُقَالُ عِنْدَ غَسْلِ الْيَدَيْنِ بَعْدَ فَرَاغِ الطَّعَامِA supplication said when washing the hands after finishing food
121 إِجَابَةُ الْأَذَانِ وَالدُّعَاءِ بَعْدَهُResponding to the adhan and supplicating after it
122 أَمْرُ الْعَقْدِ بِالْأَنَامِلِ وَالتَّسْبِيحُThe command to count on the fingertips when glorifying Allah
123 التَّسْبِيحُ بِالنَّوَىGlorifying Allah using date stones
124 التَّعَوُّذُ عِنْدَ الْفَزَعِSeeking refuge when frightened
125 الذِّكْرُ عِنْدَ الِاضْطِجَاعِ وَالدُّعَاءُ عِنْدَ الْيَقَظَةِRemembrance when lying down and supplication on waking
126 دُعَاءُ عِيَادَةِ الْمَرِيضِSupplication when visiting the sick
127 دُعَاءُ الشِّفَاءِ لِلْمَرِيضِ عِنْدَ الْعِيَادَةِSupplication for the healing of the sick when visiting them
128 رَغِمَ أَنْفُ رَجُلٍ لَمْ يُصَلِّ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَMay the nose of the man be rubbed in dust who does not send blessings upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)
129 مَا جَلَسَ قَوْمٌ يَذْكُرُونَ اللَّهَ ولَمْ يُصَلُّوا كَانَ الْمَجْلِسُ تِرَةً عَلَيْهِمْNo people sit remembering Allah without sending blessings upon their Prophet except that the gathering will be a cause of regret for them
