It is narrated from Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) that when something came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that pleased him, he would say: "All praise is for Allah, by whose grace all good deeds are brought to completion." And when something came to him that he disliked, he would say: "All praise is for Allah in every circumstance."
This hadith is sahih al-isnad (its chain is authentic), but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

Hasan li-ghayrihi: This narration is hasan li-ghayrihi, but this chain is weak because the narration of the people of Sham from Zuhayr bin Muhammad al-Tamimi is not sound, and this is one of them, since al-Walid bin Muslim is Damascene; however, the hadith has supporting reports through which it becomes hasan, Allah willing. Umm Mansur bin Abd al-Rahman is Safiyyah bint Shaybah bin Uthman al-Qurashiyyah. Ibn Majah (3803) narrated it from Hisham bin Khalid al-Azraq, with this chain. Repetition: A text of similar meaning will come later under number (2022) by way of Isa bin Maymun from al-Qasim bin Muhammad from A'ishah (may Allah be pleased with her), who said the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to say: "What prevents one of you, when he recognises the answer (to his prayer) in himself, having recovered from illness or returned from a journey, from saying: Praise be to Allah, by whose might and majesty righteous deeds are completed." But Isa bin Maymun (the freed slave of al-Qasim bin Muhammad bin Abi Bakr al-Siddiq) is "matruk" and munkar al-hadith. 4/ 655. Corroborating chains and supporting reports: It has a supporting report from Ali bin Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) in al-Bazzar (533), Abu al-Shaykh in "Akhlaq al-Nabi" (194) and al-Baghawi in "Sharh al-Sunnah" (1380), but its chain contains an unknown narrator, as Ibn al-Qattan said in "Bayan al-Wahm wa al-Iham" (4/655). Corroborating chains and supporting reports: Another from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), whose sources will be given at the hadith of A'ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) under number (2022), since its wording is like hers. Corroborating chains and supporting reports: A third from Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) in al-Khatib's "Tarikh Baghdad" (4/221), but its chain is "munqati'" (broken). Grading: A fourth from Habib bin Abi Thabit from some of his shaykhs (in Ibn Abi Shaybah's "Musannaf" 10/340, Abu Dawud's "al-Marasil" (532) and al-Bayhaqi's "al-Asma' wa al-Sifat" (150)); its narrators are thiqah, and Habib narrated from some Companions, so if the one who told him was a Companion the chain is sahih, otherwise it is mursal.
