Popular Surahs to Listen To
- Surah Al-Baqarah — the Prophet ﷺ said: "Do not make your houses graves. Shaytan flees from the house in which Surah al-Baqarah is recited." (Sahih Muslim 780)
- Surah Al-Kahf — recited on Fridays; the hadith "Whoever reads Surah al-Kahf on Friday, a light will shine for him between the two Fridays" was graded sahih by al-Albani (Sahih al-Jami 6470).
- Surah Al-Mulk — "There is a surah in the Quran of thirty verses that interceded for a man until he was forgiven: Tabarak alladhi biyadihil-mulk." (Jami at-Tirmidhi 2891, hasan)
- Surah Yaseen, Surah Ar-Rahman and Surah Al-Waqi'ah are among the most-listened surahs. Note that the well-known narrations about special virtues of Yaseen ("the heart of the Quran") and of Al-Waqi'ah (protection from poverty) are weak, so they are listened to as any part of the Quran, without attributing those rewards.

The Virtue of Listening to the Quran
Allah says: "So when the Quran is recited, listen to it and remain silent, so that you may receive mercy." (Surah al-A'raf 7:204)
The Prophet ﷺ loved to hear the Quran from others. He asked Abdullah ibn Mas'ud to recite to him, and when Ibn Mas'ud reached "How will it be when We bring from every nation a witness, and bring you as a witness over these?" (an-Nisa 4:41), he said "Enough", and his eyes were shedding tears. (Sahih al-Bukhari 5050) He ﷺ also said: "Beautify the Quran with your voices." (Sunan Abi Dawud 1468, sahih)
