Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 2036

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When a man goes to visit a sick person, let him say: 'Allahumma ishfi 'abdaka yanka'u laka 'aduwwan, aw yamshi laka ila salah' (O Allah, heal this servant of Yours, so that he may subdue an enemy for Your sake, or walk to prayer for Your pleasure)."
This is a hadith with a sahih (authentic) chain narrated by Egyptian narrators, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it, and another hadith on this topic has also been narrated from the people of Kufah.

Hadith Grading
Hadith Takhrij «
Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: This chain is "weak" because of Huyayy bin Abdullah al-Ma'afiri, since he is considered weak when he narrates something alone. Despite this, al-Hafiz Ibn Hajar called it "hasan"!
