Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 1957

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Musa (peace be upon him) said: O my Lord! Teach me something by which I may remember You and supplicate to You. Allah said: O Musa! Say: 'La ilaha illallah' (There is no god but Allah). Musa (peace be upon him) said: O my Lord! All of Your servants say this. Allah said: Say: 'La ilaha illallah.' Musa (peace be upon him) said again: 'La ilaha illa anta' (There is no god but You). O my Lord! I only want something that You grant to me specially. Allah said: O Musa! If the seven heavens and those who inhabit them (other than Me), and the seven earths, were in one pan of the scale, and 'La ilaha illallah' were in the other pan, the pan of 'La ilaha illallah' would outweigh them."
The chain of this hadith is sahih (authentic), but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

Grading: The chain is weak because the narration of Darraj Abu al-Samh from Abu al-Haytham is considered weak.
