It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Whoever says 'Subhan Allahi wa bihamdih' (Glory be to Allah, and praise be to Him) one hundred times in the morning and in the evening, his sins are forgiven, even if they are more than the foam of the sea."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Imam Muslim, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.
Hadith Takhrij«
Explanation & Benefits

Note / Clarification: The name of one narrator appears in the manuscripts as "Nasir" (without a dot) or "Nadir" (with a dot). We did not find any biography of this narrator or any other narration from him.
Note / Clarification: In the manuscripts the narrator's attribution is written "al-Misri" (from Egypt), while the printed edition has "al-Nasri"; it could also be "al-Basri".
Grading: The hadith is sahih, and Abu al-Nasr has corroboration, although there has been some difference over its chain and text on the part of Suhayl bin Abi Salih. Reference / Source: Ibn Hibban narrated it via the chain of Hammad bin Salamah, and Imam Ahmad via the chain of Isma'il al-Khulqani, in which the virtue on the Day of Resurrection is mentioned. Reference / Source: Imam Muslim, al-Tirmidhi, al-Nasa'i and Abu Dawud narrated it through various routes, in which there is the additional link of "Sumayy" between Suhayl and his father. Reference / Source: Imam al-Bukhari and Muslim narrated it via the route of Imam Malik from Sumayy, but it does not contain the specification of morning and evening. Corroborating chains and supporting reports: The summary of all these narrations is that Suhayl narrated it sometimes directly from his father and sometimes through Sumayy, and both wordings are preserved.
