It is narrated from Awsat al-Bajali that he said: I heard Sayyiduna Abu Bakr al-Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him) say on the pulpit of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him): I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say - (as soon as he said this) he was choked with sobs and wept. Then he said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say on this very pulpit last year: "Ask Allah for pardon, well-being and certainty in this world and the Hereafter, for after certainty, a servant has not been given anything better than well-being."
The chain of this hadith is sahih (authentic), but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it. This hadith is also narrated with different wording from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both).
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to his uncle (Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him)): "Supplicate abundantly for well-being."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Imam Bukhari, and it is also narrated with other wording.
