It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Allah has an angel appointed over the one who says 'Ya Arham al-Rahimin' (O Most Merciful of those who show mercy). Whoever says it three times, that angel says to him: Indeed, the Most Merciful of those who show mercy has turned towards you, so now ask for whatever you wish."

Grading: This chain is "extremely feeble" (very weak) because both Musa bin Zakariyya and Faddal bin Jubayr in it are "matruk" (abandoned). Al-Dhahabi mentioned only Faddal, whereas Musa is even weaker than him. Corroborating chains and supporting reports: There is also a mawquf narration from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that whoever repeats "Ya Arham al-Rahimin" (O Most Merciful of the merciful) receives an answer, but its chain also contains unknown and weak narrators. Grading: It is narrated "mursal" from Hafs bin Maysarah that in the heaven there is an angel named "al-Yasa'" who answers the one who calls out. Its narrators are trustworthy, but this narration is "mu'dal" (two narrators dropped), because Hafs is one of the followers of the Successors.
