Abdullah bin Ali bin al-Husayn narrates from his father (Ali bin al-Husayn), and he from his grandfather (Sayyiduna al-Husayn bin Ali (may Allah be pleased with them both)), that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "In reality, the miser is the one in whose presence I am mentioned and he does not send blessings upon me."
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it, and it has a supporting narration (shahid) from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) as well.
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "May the nose of that person be rubbed in dust in whose presence I am mentioned and he does not send blessings upon me."
