Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 2039

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "May the nose of that person be rubbed in dust in whose presence I am mentioned and he does not send blessings upon me."

Hadith Takhrij «
Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: This is a "sahih" hadith; the chain is "hasan" on account of Abd al-Rahman bin Ishaq, because he is a truthful (saduq) narrator, and he is also corroborated.
Reference / Source: Ahmad and al-Tirmidhi also recorded it, and al-Tirmidhi called it "hasan gharib".
Grading: Imam Ibn Hibban recorded it through the chain of Muhammad bin Amr, that Jibril (peace be upon him) came and said: "Whoever has you (peace and blessings be upon him) mentioned in his presence and does not send blessings upon you, and dies and enters the Fire, may Allah distance (ruin) him." This chain is "hasan".
Grading: Imam al-Bukhari recorded it in "al-Adab al-Mufrad" through the chain of al-Walid bin Rabah, which is "hasan".
Note / Clarification: "Raghima anfu rajul" (may that man's nose be rubbed in the dust) is an Arabic figurative expression for utmost humiliation and disgrace.
