It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu al-Darda (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Shall I not tell you of a deed that is the best of your deeds, the purest in the sight of your Master, the highest in raising your ranks, better for you than giving away gold and silver (in the path of Allah), and better than meeting your enemy (on the battlefield) so that you strike their necks and they strike your necks?" The Companions said: And what is that, O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The remembrance of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic." And Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) said: There is no deed that saves a person from the punishment of Allah more than the remembrance of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic.
This hadith is sahih al-isnad (its chain is authentic), but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that Abu al-Qasim (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Any people who sit in a gathering and stay there for a long time, then disperse from it without remembering Allah and without sending blessings upon their Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), there will be upon them from Allah a tirah (loss, regret and the burden of shortcoming); then if Allah wills He will punish them, and if He wills He will forgive them."

It is narrated from Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) that whenever the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) got up from a gathering, he would certainly say these words: 'Subhanaka Allahumma rabbi wa bihamdika, la ilaha illa anta, astaghfiruka wa atubu ilayk' (Glory be to You, O Allah, my Lord, and with Your praise; there is no true god but You; I seek Your forgiveness and I turn to You in repentance). I said to him: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), how often you say these words when you get up! He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever says them when he gets up from his gathering, whatever (fault or slip) occurred from him in that gathering (during the conversation) is forgiven."
This hadith is sahih al-isnad (its chain is authentic), but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.
