It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whenever Allah Almighty bestows any blessing upon a servant of His and he says in response 'Al-hamdu lillah' (All praise is for Allah), he has certainly given thanks for that blessing. If he says these words a second time, Allah Almighty increases the reward for him, and if he says them a third time, Allah Almighty forgives his sins."
This hadith is sahih, but the two Shaykhs did not record it; however, neither of them recorded the narration of Abu Mu'awiyah.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: Its chain is very weak. Abd al-Rahman bin Qays is "matruk", indeed "muttaham" (accused of lying), and his shaykh Muhammad bin Abi Humayd is weak. Important point: Imam al-Dhahabi objected to the author (al-Hakim) declaring this hadith sahih, saying: It is not sahih; according to Abu Zur'ah, Abd al-Rahman bin Qays is a kadhdhab (liar). Reference / Source: It was narrated by al-Bayhaqi in "Shu'ab al-Iman" (4090) with this same chain of al-Hakim. Reference / Source: It was narrated by al-Daylami in "Musnad al-Firdaws" via Ahmad bin Mansur al-Hanzali.
