It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to supplicate with these words: 'Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min ghalabatid-dayn, wa ghalabatil-'aduww, wa shamatatil-a'da'' (O Allah, I seek refuge in You from being overwhelmed by debt, from being overpowered by the enemy, and from the gloating of enemies (over my misfortune)).
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Imam Muslim, but the two Shaykhs did not record it.
