It is narrated from Sayyiduna Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: My tongue was harsh towards my family. I said: O Messenger of Allah! I fear that my tongue will take me into the Fire. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Why do you not seek forgiveness? I seek forgiveness from Allah one hundred times a day." Abu Ishaq says: I mentioned this to Abu Burdah, and he added (in the words of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)): "And I repent."
This hadith is sahih on the condition of the two Shaykhs, but they did not record it in this way. Imam Muslim recorded the narration of Abu Burdah from al-Agharr al-Muzani that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A burden comes over my heart too, and I seek forgiveness a hundred times a day." Likewise, there is also the narration of Nafi' from Ibn Umar.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: Like the previous narration, its chain has the potential of being hasan. Qabisah: he is Ibn Uqbah; Abd al-Rahman: he is Ibn Mahdi; and Abu Burdah: he is the son of Abu Musa al-Ash'ari. 38/ (23371). Reference / Source: This hadith is in "Musnad Ahmad" 38/ (23371). Reference / Source: It was narrated by Imam al-Nasa'i and Ibn Hibban via Abd al-Rahman bin Mahdi, but Amr bin Ali did not mention in it Abu Ishaq's narration from Abu Burdah. Reference / Source: It was narrated by Imam Ahmad from Waki' and by al-Nasa'i from Makhlad bin Yazid (both from al-Thawri); they too did not mention Abu Burdah. 38/ (23340). Variation in the chain: There is disagreement in the route of Abu Burdah; some narrated it as mursal and some from Abu Musa, but what is preserved is that it is narrated from "al-Agharr al-Muzani".
Note / Clarification: The hadith of al-Agharr al-Muzani is in Sahih Muslim (2702), but the hadith of Ibn Umar is not in Muslim (as the wording of al-Hakim gives the impression); rather, it is in the Sunan.
