It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Musa al-Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: 'Allahumma inni astaghfiruka lima qaddamtu wa ma akhkhartu, wa ma a'lantu wa ma asrartu, antal-Muqaddimu wa antal-Mu'akhkhiru, wa anta 'ala kulli shay'in qadir' (O Allah, I seek Your forgiveness for the sins I committed before and those I committed after, those I committed openly and those I committed in secret. You alone are the One who brings forward and You alone are the One who holds back, and You have power over all things).
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record it.

Grading: The hadith is sahih, but this chain is weak due to a break (inqita'). Defect ('illah): Abu Qilabah al-Raqashi contradicted Imam Ahmad in it and dropped an unnamed intermediary from the chain. Abu Qilabah made many mistakes; however, because the unnamed intermediary is corroborated, the hadith is sahih. Reference / Source: It was narrated by Imam Ahmad 32/ (19489) via Abd al-Samad bin Abd al-Warith with the "unnamed intermediary". Reference / Source: It was narrated by al-Bukhari, Muslim and Ibn Hibban with the chain Ibn Abi Musa from his father, containing the detailed wording "Rabbi ighfir li khati'ati wa jahli" (My Lord, forgive me my sin and my ignorance). (1955). Corroborating chains and supporting reports: On this topic, the narration of Ibn Umar will come at no. (1955). 13/ (7913). Corroborating chains and supporting reports: There is also a narration from Abu Hurayrah with Imam Ahmad (7913). (771). Corroborating chains and supporting reports: It is reported from Ali bin Abi Talib in Sahih Muslim (771). (769). Corroborating chains and supporting reports: It is reported from Ibn Abbas in al-Bukhari (1120) and Muslim (769).
