أخبرَناهُ أبو الطَّيب محمد بن أحمد بن الحسن الحِيْري، حدثنا محمد بن عبد الوهاب الفَرّاء، حدثنا علي بن عَثّام بن علي العامِري، حدثنا أبي، حدثنا الأعمش، عن عطاء بن السائب، عن أبيه، عن عبد الله بن عمرو، قال: رأيتُ النبيَّ ﷺ يَعقِدُ التَّسبيحَ (1).
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he said: I saw the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) counting the words of tasbih on the tips of his fingers.

(1) إسناده صحيح. وسماع الأعمش - وهو سليمان بن مِهران - من عطاء بن السائب قديم قبل اختلاطه. Grading: Its chain is "sahih"; al-A'mash heard from Ata' bin al-Sa'ib early, before his memory became confused (ikhtilat). وأخرجه أبو داود (1502)، والترمذي (3411) و (3486)، والنسائي (1280)، وابن حبان (843) من طرق عن الأعمش، بهذا الإسناد. وقال الترمذي: حديث حسن غريب. Reference / Source: Abu Dawud (1502), al-Tirmidhi, al-Nasa'i and Ibn Hibban recorded it through the route of al-A'mash, and al-Tirmidhi called it "hasan gharib".
