Sayyiduna Abu Malik al-Ashja'i narrates from his father that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to teach whoever accepted Islam this supplication: 'Allahummahdini warzuqni wa 'afini warhamni' (O Allah, guide me, provide for me, grant me well-being and have mercy on me).
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Imam Muslim, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: Its chain is sahih. Abu Malik al-Ashja'i is a thiqah narrator. Reference / Source: Imam Ahmad and Muslim narrated it. Imam al-Hakim's including it as a supplement (istidrak) is an oversight on his part, because it is in Muslim. Reference / Source: Imam Ahmad, Muslim and Ibn Majah also narrated it via the routes of other thiqah narrators.
