Hadith 1972

حدثنا أبو بكر بن إسحاق الفقيه، أخبرنا إبراهيم بن يوسف الرازي، حدثنا أبو كُرَيب، حدثنا أبو خالد الأحمَر، عن ابن عَجْلان، عن سعيد بن أبي سعيد، عن أبي هريرة: أنَّ النبي ﷺ كان يقولُ في دُعائه: "اللهمَّ إني أعوذ بك من جارِ السُّوء في دار المُقامةِ، فإنَّ جارَ الباديةِ يَتحوَّلُ" (1).
هذا حديث صحيح على شرط مسلم، ولم يُخرجاه. وقد تابعَه عبد الرحمن بن إسحاق عن المَقبُري:

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to say in his supplication: 'Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min jaris-su'i fi daril-muqamah, fa inna jaral-badiyati yatahawwal' (O Allah, I seek refuge in You from an evil neighbour in the place of permanent residence (home), for the neighbour in the desert or on a journey changes (one can move away from him)).
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Imam Muslim, but the two Shaykhs did not record it.

Hadith 1973

حدَّثَناه أبو بكر محمد بن أحمد بن بالَوَيهِ، حدثنا إسحاق بن الحسن، حدثنا عفّان، حدثنا وُهَيب، حدثنا عبد الرحمن بن إسحاق، عن سعيد المَقبُري، عن أبي هريرة، قال: كان رسولُ الله ﷺ يقول: "استَعيِذوا باللهِ من شَرّ جار (1) المُقام، فإن جارَ المسافر إذا شاء أن يُزايِلَ زايَل" (1).
هذا حديث صحيح على شرط مسلم، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to say: "Seek refuge in Allah from the evil of the neighbour of permanent residence, for the travelling neighbour parts whenever he wishes."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Imam Muslim, but the two Shaykhs did not record it.
