Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 1906

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Salma (may Allah be pleased with him), who was the shepherd of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), that he said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Excellent, excellent! How fine are five things that will be very heavy in the Scale: saying 'Subhan Allah, wal-hamdu lillah, wa la ilaha illallah, wallahu akbar' (Glorified is Allah, all praise is for Allah, there is no god but Allah, and Allah is the Greatest), and a righteous child who dies and whose Muslim father bears it with patience, hoping for reward."
The chain of this hadith is sahih, but the two Shaykhs did not record it.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: The hadith is sahih; although this chain is weak on account of Sulayman bin Ahmad al-Wasiti, other narrators have corroborated him from al-Walid bin Muslim.
Reference / Source: It was narrated by Imam al-Nasa'i and Ibn Hibban via al-Walid bin Muslim through "Abu Salma".
Grading: Imam Ahmad narrated it with the chain Yahya bin Abi Kathir from Zayd bin Sallam; this chain is sahih, and the unnamed "mawla" in it is the shepherd Abu Salma himself.
Reference / Source: It was narrated by Imam Ahmad 38/ (23100) via Hisham al-Dastuwa'i. Yahya sometimes narrated from a written collection (sahifah) of Abu Sallam, so there is no contradiction.
Note / Clarification: "Bakh bakh" is a word said on occasions of praise and approval; it is also repeated for emphasis. Its kha' is vowelless, and sometimes it is also pronounced doubled.
