It is narrated from Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) that Sayyiduna Abu Bakr al-Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him) came in to her and asked: Have you heard from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) the supplication that he (peace and blessings be upon him) taught me? She asked: What is it? He said: Sayyiduna Isa ibn Maryam (peace be upon him) used to teach this supplication to his companions: "If any of you had a debt as large as a mountain of gold and he called upon Allah with this supplication, Allah Almighty would pay it off on his behalf: 'Allahumma farijal-hamm, kashifal-ghamm, mujiba da'watil-mudtarrin, rahmanad-dunya wal-akhirati wa rahimahuma, anta tarhamuni farhamni rahmatan tughnini biha 'an rahmati man siwak' (O Allah, Remover of worries, Dispeller of grief, Answerer of the call of those in distress, Merciful in this world and the Hereafter and Most Compassionate in them both! You are the One who shows me mercy, so grant me a special mercy by which You make me free of need of the mercy of anyone besides You)." Sayyiduna Abu Bakr al-Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Some debt remained upon me and I strongly disliked it, so I kept making this supplication, and Allah Almighty brought me some gain and paid off that debt on my behalf. Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: I owed Sayyidah Asma' bint Umays (may Allah be pleased with her) one dinar and three dirhams. Whenever she came to me, I felt ashamed to face her because I had no means of repaying her. Then I began making this supplication, and only a little time had passed when Allah Almighty granted me provision that was neither charity given to me nor an inheritance; rather, Allah paid off my debt, I also distributed it well among my family, I had jewellery of three uqiyahs of silver made for the daughter of Sayyiduna Abd al-Rahman, and a good amount was left over for us.
Imam Bukhari used Abdullah bin Umar al-Numayri as evidence, and this hadith is sahih (authentic); however, the two Shaykhs did not use al-Hakam bin Abdullah al-Ayli as evidence.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu al-Darda' (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Everything that the son of Adam speaks is recorded against him. So when he commits a sin and wishes to repent to Allah, let him come to some elevated place, stretch out his hands before Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, and say: 'Allahumma inni atubu ilayka minha, la arji'u ilayha abada' (O Allah, I repent to You from this sin, and I will never return to it), and he will be forgiven so long as he does not commit that sin again."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record it.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Zayd bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) taught him this supplication and ordered him to remind his family of it every morning: 'Labbayk Allahumma labbayk wa sa'dayk, wal-khayru fi yadayk, wa minka wa ilayk. Allahumma ma qultu min qawl, aw halaftu min half, aw nadhartu min nadhr, fa mashi'atuka bayna yaday dhalika kullih, ma shi'ta kan, wa ma lam tasha' lam yakun, wa la hawla wa la quwwata illa bik, innaka 'ala kulli shay'in qadir. (Here I am, O Allah, here I am, and ready to obey You. All good is in Your hands; everything is from You and to You is the return. O Allah, whatever statement I have made, or whatever oath I have sworn, or whatever vow I have taken, Your will comes before all of it: whatever You will happens, and whatever You do not will cannot happen. There is no ability to avoid sin and no strength to do good except through You. Indeed, You have power over all things. O Allah, whomever I have invoked blessings and mercy upon, let it be upon whom You have sent mercy, and whomever I have cursed, let it be upon whom You have cursed. You are my Protector in this world and the Hereafter; grant me death in a state of Islam and join me with the righteous. O Allah, I ask You for contentment after Your decree, a tranquil life after death, the delight of looking at Your Face, and longing to meet You, in a state in which no harmful affliction has struck and no misleading trial has come. I seek refuge in You from wronging anyone or being wronged, from transgressing or being transgressed against, or from committing an error or a sin that You will not forgive. O Allah, Originator of the heavens and the earth, Knower of the unseen and the seen, Possessor of Majesty and Honour! I make a covenant with You in this worldly life and I call You to witness, and You suffice as a Witness, that I bear witness that there is no god but You alone, You have no partner; Yours is the dominion and to You belongs all praise, and You have power over all things. I bear witness that Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) is Your servant and Messenger. I bear witness that Your promise is true, that meeting You is true, and that the Hour is coming, there is no doubt about it, and that You will raise up those who are in the graves [Surah al-Hajj: 7]. If You leave me to my own self, You will have left me to weakness, fault, sin and error. I trust in nothing but Your mercy, so forgive me all my sins; indeed, none forgives sins except You. And accept my repentance; indeed, You are the Acceptor of repentance, the Most Merciful.)
