Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 1876

It is narrated from Sayyiduna al-Nu'man bin Bashir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The remembrance you make of the greatness and majesty of Allah, namely tasbih (glorifying Him), tahmid (praising Him) and tahlil (declaring His oneness), circles around the Throne with a buzzing like the buzzing of bees, and it mentions the one who recited it (before Allah). Would none of you like to have something (of remembrance) with Allah that keeps reminding of him?"
This hadith is sahih on the condition of Imam Muslim, for he used Musa al-Qari as evidence, and he is this same Ibn Isa.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Important point: The name by which the author (al-Hakim) has called him here is an error on his part; his mind went to the narrator whom Imam Muslim uses as proof (Musa bin Isa al-Khayyat). What is correct is that this is "Abu Isa Musa bin Muslim al-Kufi", known as "Musa al-Saghir". The author confused the two, taking them to be one.

Grading: Its chain is sahih. Musaddad: he is Ibn Musarhad; and Yahya bin Sa'id: he is al-Qattan.
Reference / Source: It was narrated by Imam Ahmad 30/ (18388) and Ibn Majah (3809). In both places this chain is narrated from Yahya bin Sa'id al-Qattan, but there it reads "Awn bin Abd Allah from his father or from his brother", with doubt.
Note / Clarification: This hadith has already passed at (1862); there we mentioned that this doubt does no harm, because both (the father and the brother) are thiqah.
