Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 1841

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came out to us and said: "O people, indeed Allah Almighty has detachments of angels who descend upon the gatherings of remembrance on the earth and stay there, so graze in the gardens of Paradise." The Companions said: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), where are the gardens of Paradise? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The gatherings of remembrance are the gardens of Paradise. So occupy yourselves with the remembrance of Allah morning and evening, and remind yourselves of Him. Whoever wishes to know what his standing is with Allah, let him look at what standing Allah has in his own heart, for Allah Almighty gives the servant the same standing with Him that the servant gives Allah in his own self."
This hadith is sahih al-isnad (its chain is authentic), but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.
