أخبار الأنبياء ومناقبهم - ذِكْرُ آدَمَ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ
Accounts of the Prophets and their virtues: mention of Adam (peace be upon him)
2 أَطْيَبُ رِيحٍ فِي الْأَرْضِ الْهِنْدُThe most fragrant scent on earth is that of India
3 ثِمَارُكُمْ هَذِهِ مِنْ ثِمَارِ الْجَنَّةِThese fruits of yours are from the fruits of Paradise
4 بَيَانُ خَلْقِ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَآدَمَExplanation of the creation of the heavens, the earth and Adam (peace be upon him)
5 أَخَذَ اللَّهُ الْمِيثَاقَ مِنْ ظَهْرِ آدَمَ بِعَرَفَةَAllah took the covenant from the back of Adam (peace be upon him) at Arafah
6 إِذَا خَلَقَ اللَّهُ الْعَبْدَ لِلْجَنَّةِ اسْتَعْمَلَهُ بِعَمَلِ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِWhen Allah creates a servant for Paradise, He employs him in the deeds of the people of Paradise
7 ذِكْرُ تَلَقَّى آدَمَ مِنْ رَبِّهِ كَلِمَاتٍ فَتَابَ عَلَيْهِMention of Adam (peace be upon him) receiving words from his Lord and Allah accepting his repentance
8 ذِكْرُ نُوحٍ النَّبِيِّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ -Mention of Nuh (peace be upon him)
9 سَيِّدُ الْأَنْبِيَاءِ خَمْسَةٌ وَمُحَمَّدٌ سَيِّدُ الْخَمْسَةِThe leaders of the prophets are five, and Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) is the leader of the five
10 جُمِعَ لِنُوحٍ عِلْمُ الْمَاضِينَ كُلِّهِمْThe knowledge of all those before was gathered for Nuh (peace be upon him)
11 شَهَادَةُ نَبِيِّنَا وَأُمَّتِهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ عَلَى إِبْلَاغِ نُوحٍ قَوْمَهُThe testimony of our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and his Ummah on the Day of Resurrection that Nuh (peace be upon him) conveyed the message to his people
12 ذِكْرُ إِدْرِيسَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ - شَرْحُ: {وَلَا تَبَرَّجْنَ تَبَرُّجَ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ الْأُولَى}Mention of Idris (peace be upon him): explanation of "And do not display yourselves as in the display of the former Ignorance"
13 ذِكْرُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ - بَيَانُ الْقُرُونِ فِيمَا بَيْنَ الْأَنْبِيَاءِMention of Ibrahim (peace be upon him): explanation of the generations between the prophets
14 ذِكْرُ نَسَبِ إِبْرَاهِيمَMention of the lineage of Ibrahim (peace be upon him)
15 أَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ عَلَى إِبْرَاهِيمَ بَعْضَ مَا أَنْزَلَ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍAllah revealed to Ibrahim (peace be upon him) some of what He revealed to Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him)
16 مَاتَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ - عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ - وَهُوَ ابْنُ مِائَتَيْ سَنَةٍIbrahim (peace be upon him) died at the age of two hundred years
17 الْإِسْلَامُ ثَلَاثُونَ سَهْمًاIslam is thirty portions
18 ذِكْرُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ - أَوَّلُ مَنْ نَطَقَ بِالْعَرَبِيَّةِ إِسْمَاعِيلُMention of Ismail (peace be upon him): the first to speak Arabic was Ismail (peace be upon him)
19 حِلْيَةُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ - عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ -The physical appearance of Ismail (peace be upon him)
20 بَيَانُ الِاخْتِلَافِ فِي أَنَّ الذَّبِيحَ إِسْمَاعِيلُ أَوْ إِسْحَاقُExplanation of the disagreement over whether the one to be sacrificed was Ismail or Ishaq (peace be upon them)
21 بَيَانُ الِاخْتِلَافِ فِي مَقَامِ ذَبْحِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ - عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ -Explanation of the disagreement over the place of the sacrifice of Ismail (peace be upon him)
22 ذِكْرُ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ صَلَوَاتُ اللهِ وَسَلَامُهُ عَلَيْهِمَاMention of Ishaq bin Ibrahim (peace be upon them)
23 حِلْيَةُ إِسْحَاقَ - عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ -The physical appearance of Ishaq (peace be upon him)
24 ذِكْرُ مَنْ قَالَ إِنَّ الذَّبِيحَ إِسْحَاقُ، إِغْوَاءُ الشَّيْطَانِ آلَ إِبْرَاهِيمَ فِي ذَبْحِ ابْنِهِMention of those who said the one to be sacrificed was Ishaq (peace be upon him), and Satan's attempt to mislead the family of Ibrahim over the sacrifice of his son
25 دُعَاءُ إِسْحَاقَ - عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ -The supplication of Ishaq (peace be upon him)
26 ذِكْرُ لُوطٍ النَّبِيِّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ -Mention of Lut (peace be upon him)
27 لَمْ يُبْعَثْ نَبِيٌّ قَطُّ بَعْدَ لُوطٍ إِلَّا فِي ثَرْوَةٍ مِنْ قَوْمِهِNo prophet was ever sent after Lut (peace be upon him) except from among the powerful of his people
28 حِلْيَةُ لُوطٍ - عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ -The physical appearance of Lut (peace be upon him)
29 أَحْوَالُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَسَارَّةَ وَلُوطٍ وَقَوْمِهِThe circumstances of Ibrahim, Sarah, Lut and his people
30 نُزُولُ عَذَابِ اللَّهِ عَلَى قَوْمِ لُوطٍThe descent of Allah's punishment on the people of Lut
31 ذِكْرُ هُودٍ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَMention of Hud (peace be upon him)
32 لم تهلك أمة إلا لحق نبيها بمكة وقبر هود عليه السلام بين الحجر وزمزمNo nation was destroyed except that its prophet went to Makkah, and the grave of Hud (peace be upon him) is between the Hijr and Zamzam
33 قِصَّةُ هَلَاكِ قَوْمِ عَادٍThe story of the destruction of the people of Ad
34 كَانَ هُودٌ أَشْبَهَ النَّاسِ بِآدَمَ - عَلَيْهِمَا السَّلَامُ -Hud (peace be upon him) was the most similar of people to Adam (peace be upon him)
35 ذِكْرُ صَالِحٍ النَّبِيِّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ -Mention of Salih (peace be upon him)
36 حِلْيَةُ صَالِحٍ - عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ -The physical appearance of Salih (peace be upon him)
37 ذِكْرُ عَقْرِ نَاقَةِ صَالِحٍ - عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ - وَقِصَّةُ هَلَاكِ آلِ ثَمُودَ وَطَيَرَانِ الْجَبَلِ إِلَى السَّمَاءِMention of the hamstringing of the she-camel of Salih (peace be upon him), the story of the destruction of Thamud, and the mountain flying to the sky
38 ذِكْرُ شُعَيْبٍ النَّبِيِّ - صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَMention of Shuayb (peace be upon him)
39 هَلَاكُ قَوْمِ شُعَيْبٍ بِالرِّيحِThe destruction of the people of Shuayb by the wind
40 ذِكْرُ عَذَابِ يَوْمِ الظُّلَّةِMention of the punishment of the Day of the Canopy
41 ذِكْرُ يَعْقُوبَ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْخَلِيلِ صَلَوَاتُ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهِمْMention of Yaqub (peace be upon him)
42 ذِكْرُ وِلَادَةِ يَعْقُوبَ - عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ -Mention of the birth of Yaqub (peace be upon him)
43 ذِكْرُ يُوسُفَ بْنِ يَعْقُوبَ صَلَوَاتُ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهِمَاMention of Yusuf bin Yaqub (peace be upon them)
44 نَقْلُ عِظَامِ يُوسُفَ مِنْ مِصْرَ فِي عَهْدِ مُوسَى - عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ -The moving of the bones of Yusuf (peace be upon him) from Egypt in the time of Musa (peace be upon him)
45 كَانَ فِرَاقُ يُوسُفَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ ثَمَانِينَ سَنَةًThe separation of Yusuf (peace be upon him) from his father lasted eighty years
46 حُسْنُ آدَمَ - عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ - قَبْلَ الْمَعْصِيَةِThe beauty of Adam (peace be upon him) before the sin
47 ذِكْرُ النَّبِيِّ الْكَلِيمِ مُوسَى بْنِ عِمْرَانَ وَأَخِيهِ هَارُونَ بْنِ عِمْرَانَMention of Musa and Harun (peace be upon them)
48 ذِكْرُ وِلَادَةِ مُوسَى عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ - ، ذِكْرُ تَرْبِيَةِ مُوسَى فِي حِجْرِ آسِيَةَ امْرَأَةِ فِرْعَوْنَMention of the birth of Musa (peace be upon him) and his upbringing in the care of Asiyah, the wife of Pharaoh
49 سُؤَالُ مُوسَى رُؤْيَةَ الرَّبِّ وَصَعْقُهُ عِنْدَ التَّجَلِّيMusa (peace be upon him) asking to see the Lord and falling unconscious at the manifestation
50 حِلْيَةُ مُوسَى وَهَارُونَ - عَلَيْهِمَا السَّلَامُ -The physical appearance of Musa and Harun (peace be upon them)
51 كَانَ مَلَكُ الْمَوْتِ يَأْتِي النَّاسَ عِيَانًا قَبْلَ مُوسَىThe Angel of Death used to come to people visibly before Musa (peace be upon him)
52 ذِكْرُ وَفَاةِ هَارُونَ بْنِ عِمْرَانَ فَإِنَّهُ مَاتَ قَبْلَ مُوسَى عَلَيْهِمَا السَّلَامُMention of the death of Harun (peace be upon him)
53 رَفْعُ نَعْشِ هَارُونَ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ ثُمَّ نُزُولُهُ بِدُعَاءِ مُوسَى - عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ -The bier of Harun (peace be upon him) being raised to the sky and then brought down by the supplication of Musa (peace be upon him)
54 ذِكْرُ وَفَاةِ مُوسَى - عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ -Mention of the death of Musa (peace be upon him)
55 ذِكْرُ أَيُّوبَ بْنِ أَمُوصَ نَبِيِّ اللَّهِ الْمُبْتَلَى - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ -Mention of Ayyub (peace be upon him), the afflicted Prophet of Allah
56 ذِكْرُ بَلَاءِ أَيُّوبَ - عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ -Mention of the affliction of Ayyub (peace be upon him)
57 أُمْطِرَ عَلَى أَيُّوبَ - عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ - جَرَادًا مِنْ ذَهَبٍLocusts of gold were rained down upon Ayyub (peace be upon him)
58 ذِكْرُ نَبِيِّ اللَّهِ إِلْيَاسَ وَصِفَتُهُ - عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ -Mention of the Prophet of Allah Ilyas (peace be upon him) and his description
59 ذِكْرُ نَبِيِّ اللَّهِ يُونُسَ بْنِ مَتَّى - عَلَيْهِ الصَّلَاةُ وَالسَّلَامُ - وَهُوَ الَّذِي سَمَّاهُ اللَّهُ ذَا النُّونِMention of the Prophet of Allah Yunus bin Matta (peace be upon him), whom Allah named Dhu al-Nun
60 مَكَثَ يُونُسُ فِي بَطْنِ الْحُوتِ أَرْبَعِينَ يَوْمًاYunus (peace be upon him) remained in the belly of the whale for forty days
61 سَجْدَةُ يُونُسَ فِي بَطْنِ الْحُوتِThe prostration of Yunus (peace be upon him) in the belly of the whale
62 ذِكْرُ نَبِيِّ اللَّهِ دَاوُدَ صَاحِبِ الزَّبُورِ - عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ -Mention of the Prophet of Allah Dawud (peace be upon him), the recipient of the Zabur
63 بَيْنَ مُوسَى إِلَى دَاوُدَ خَمْسُمِائَةِ سَنَةٍ وَتِسْعَةٌ وَسِتُّونَ سَنَةًBetween Musa and Dawud (peace be upon them) were five hundred and sixty-nine years
64 حِكَايَةُ ابْتِلَاءِ دَاوُدَ - عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ -The story of the trial of Dawud (peace be upon him)
65 فَضَائِلُ دَاوُدَ - عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ -The virtues of Dawud (peace be upon him)
66 ذِكْرُ نَبِيِّ اللهِ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ دَاوُدَ وَمَا آتَاهُ اللهُ مِنَ الْمُلْكِ - صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ -Mention of the Prophet of Allah Sulayman bin Dawud (peace be upon them) and the kingdom Allah gave him
67 تَسْخِيرُ سُلَيْمَانَ - عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ - الْإِنْسَ وَالْجِنَّ وَالْوُحُوشَ وَغَيْرَهَاThe subjection of mankind, jinn, wild beasts and others to Sulayman (peace be upon him)
68 سَيْرُ سُلَيْمَانَ - عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ - فِي الْغَدَاةِ الْوَاحِدَةِ مَسِيرَةَ شَهْرٍSulayman (peace be upon him) travelling a month's journey in a single morning
69 مَلَكَ الْأَرْضَ أَرْبَعَةٌFour kings ruled the earth
70 ذِكْرُ زَكَرِيَا بْنِ آدَنَ النَّبِيِّ - عَلَيْهِ الصَّلَاةُ وَالسَّلَامُ -Mention of the Prophet Zakariyya bin Adan (peace be upon him)
71 بِشَارَةُ وِلَادَةِ يَحْيَى بْنِ زَكَرِيَّا عَلَيْهِمَا السَّلَامُThe glad tidings of the birth of Yahya bin Zakariyya (peace be upon them)
72 حِلْيَةُ يَحْيَى - عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ -The physical appearance of Yahya (peace be upon him)
73 قِصَّةُ قَتْلِ يَحْيَى - عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ -The story of the killing of Yahya (peace be upon him)
74 ذِكْرُ نَبِيِّ اللَّهِ وَرُوحِهِ عِيسَى ابْنِ مَرْيَمَ صَلَوَاتُ اللَّهِ وَسَلَامُهُ عَلَيْهِمَاMention of the Prophet of Allah and His spirit, Isa ibn Maryam (peace be upon them)
75 وُلِدَ عِيسَى ابْنُ مَرْيَمَ يَوْمَ عَاشُورَاءَIsa ibn Maryam (peace be upon him) was born on the day of Ashura
76 قِصَّةُ وِلَادَةِ عِيسَى ابْنِ مَرْيَمَ - عَلَيْهِمَا السَّلَامُ -The story of the birth of Isa ibn Maryam (peace be upon them)
77 طَعْنُ الشَّيْطَانِ لِكُلِّ وَلَدِ آدَمَ إِلَّا مَرْيَمَ وَابْنَهَاSatan pricks every child of Adam except Maryam and her son
78 ذِكْرُ أَفْضَلِ نِسَاءِ الْعَالَمِينَMention of the best women of the worlds
79 هُبُوطُ عِيسَى - عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ - وَقَتْلُ الدَّجَّالِ وَإِشَاعَةُ الْإِسْلَامِThe descent of Isa (peace be upon him), the killing of the Dajjal and the spread of Islam
80 ذِكْرُ عُمْرِ مَرْيَمَ وَعِيسَى - عَلَيْهِمَا السَّلَامُ -Mention of the ages of Maryam and Isa (peace be upon them)
81 ذِكْرُ حِرَفِ الْأَنْبِيَاءِ - عَلَيْهِمُ السَّلَامُ -Mention of the crafts of the prophets (peace be upon them)
82 نَعْتُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ -The description of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)
83 بَعْثُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ - بَعْدَ ثَمَانِيَةِ آلَافٍ مِنَ الْأَنْبِيَاءِThe Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was sent after eight thousand prophets
84 ذِكْرُ مُدَّةِ الْفَاصِلَةِ فِيمَا بَيْنَ الْأَنْبِيَاءِ - عَلَيْهِمُ السَّلَامُ -Mention of the length of the intervals between the prophets (peace be upon them)
85 ذِكْرُ خَالِدِ بْنِ سِنَانٍMention of Khalid bin Sinan
