It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "(On the Day of Resurrection) the people will come to Isa (peace be upon him) for intercession, and he will say: Do you know anyone other than me who is the word of Allah and His spirit, and who heals the one born blind and the leper and brings the dead to life? The people will say: No."

(193). Grading: Its narrators are thiqah, Technical note / Defect ('illah): but this report is "shadh"; we have not found it recorded by anyone other than the author (al-Hakim). The "mahfuz" (well-established) version concerning the intercession is that the people will come to 'Isa (peace be upon him) and he will say to them: "I am not fit for that," and then he will direct them to the Messenger of Allah, Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), and they will go to him. These narrations do not mention these worldly miracles. Reference / Source: It is like this in the hadith of 'Ali bin Zayd bin Jud'an, from Abu Nadrah, from Ibn 'Abbas, in Ahmad 4/(2546); in the hadith of Abu Hurayrah in al-Bukhari (4712) and Muslim (194); and in the hadith of Anas, also in al-Bukhari (7410) and Muslim (193). Technical note / Defect ('illah): (Identification of narrators): Husayn bin 'Ali is al-Ju'fi (their freed slave), Za'idah is Ibn Qudamah, and Maysarah is Ibn 'Ammar (also called Ibn Tammam) al-Ashja'i.
