حدثنا أبو العباس محمد بن يعقوب، حدثنا إبراهيم بن سليمان بن أبي داود البُرُلُّسي، حدثنا محمد بن عُبيد الطَّنَافِسي، حدثنا يونس بن أبي إسحاق السَّبِيعي، حدثني إبراهيم بن محمد بن سعد بن أبي وقّاص، حدثني والدي محمد، عن أبيه سعد قال: قال النبي ﷺ: "دعوةُ ذي النُّون التي دعا بها في بطنِ الحُوت: ﴿لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ سُبْحَانَكَ إِنِّي كُنْتُ مِنَ الظَّالِمِينَ﴾ [الأنبياء: 87] لم يَدْعُ مسلمٌ بها في كُرْبةٍ إلَّا استجاب اللهُ له" (1).
هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sa'd bin Abi Waqqas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The supplication of Dhu al-Nun (Yunus, peace be upon him), which he made in the belly of the fish: 'La ilaha illa anta, subhanaka, inni kuntu min al-zalimin' (There is no true god but You; glory be to You; indeed I have been of the wrongdoers) [Surah al-Anbiya: 87]: no Muslim makes this supplication in any calamity or distress except that Allah Almighty surely answers him."
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain of narration, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

(1) حديث صحيح، وهذا إسناد حسن من أجل يونس بن أبي إسحاق، وقد روي من وجه آخر حسن عن سعد بن أبي وقاص سيأتي برقم (4172).
Grading: The hadith is sahih, and this chain is hasan because of Yunus bin Abi Ishaq.
Corroborating chains and supporting reports: It is also narrated from Sa'd bin Abi Waqqas through another hasan route, which will come under no. (4172).
وقد تقدم برقم (1883) من طريق محمد بن يوسف الفريابي عن يونس بن أبي إسحاق.
Details of the narration: It has already passed under no. (1883) via Muhammad bin Yusuf al-Firyabi, from Yunus bin Abi Ishaq.
وبرقم (1885) من طريق محمد بن مهاجر القُرشي عن إبراهيم بن محمد.
Details of the narration: And under no. (1885) via Muhammad bin Muhajir al-Qurashi, from Ibrahim bin Muhammad.
