Note / Clarification: The text between the square brackets had dropped out of the manuscripts, and we have supplied it from Ibn Khuzaymah's "al-Tawhid" 2/ 894, where he narrated it from Abu al-Ash'ath Ahmad bin al-Miqdam, from al-Mu'tamir bin Sulayman.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): 'Amir is "al-Sha'bi", and his mention in the chain of this report is established, since everyone who narrated it from Isma'il bin Abi Khalid mentioned him, and likewise Mujalid bin Sa'id narrated it from al-Sha'bi.
Grading: Its narrators are thiqah (trustworthy). (Identification of the narrator): Abu Abd Allah al-Bushanji is Muhammad bin Ibrahim bin Sa'id.
Reference / Source: It was recorded by Ishaq bin Rahawayh in his "Musnad" (1421), Abd Allah bin Ahmad in "al-Sunnah" (548), al-Tabari in his "Tafsir" 27/ 51, Ibn Khuzaymah in "al-Tawhid" 2/ 491 and 2/ 894-895, Abu al-Abbas al-Sarraj in his "Hadith" (1405), Abu Bakr al-Najjad in "al-Radd 'ala man yaqul al-Qur'an makhluq" (17), al-Daraqutni in "Ru'yat Allah" (225), Abu Tahir al-Mukhallis in "al-Mukhallisiyyat" (1759), al-Lalaka'i in "Usul al-I'tiqad" (867), and Ibn Asakir in "Tarikh Dimashq" 61/ 105, through various routes from Isma'il bin Abi Khalid, with this chain.
Reference / Source: It was recorded by Abd al-Razzaq in his "Tafsir" 2/ 252 (and via him by Ibn Khuzaymah in "al-Tawhid" 2/ 560, al-Daraqutni in "Ru'yat Allah" (226), and al-Tha'labi in his "Tafsir" 9/ 141), and by al-Tirmidhi (3278) from Muhammad bin Yahya bin Abi Umar al-'Adani.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): Both of them (Abd al-Razzaq and Ibn Abi Umar) narrate it from Sufyan bin 'Uyaynah, from Mujalid bin Sa'id, from al-Sha'bi. Abd al-Razzaq said: "from Abd Allah bin al-Harith", while Ibn Abi Umar did not mention Abd Allah bin al-Harith in his narration. What is correct is that he is mentioned, as Abd al-Razzaq did in his narration, in agreement with the narration of Isma'il bin Abi Khalid.
