(1). It is narrated from Muhammad bin Ka'b; he said: It has reached us that the army of Sulayman bin Dawud (peace be upon them both) (extended over) one hundred farsakhs: twenty-five of them for humans, twenty-five for the jinn, twenty-five for wild animals and twenty-five for birds. He had a thousand houses of glass upon wood, in which were three hundred free wives and seven hundred slave-women. He commanded the violent wind and it lifted him, then he commanded the wind and it travelled with him. Then, while he was travelling between the heaven and the earth, Allah Almighty revealed to him: "I have added to your kingdom that no one among the creation will speak about anything except that the wind will come and inform you of it."

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: Its chain is weak because Abu Ma'shar (Najih bin 'Abd al-Rahman al-Sindi) is a weak narrator. Technical note / Defect ('illah): Hajjaj is Hajjaj bin Muhammad al-Missisi. Reference / Source: It was recorded by al-Tabari in his "Tafsir" 19/141 and his "Tarikh" 1/487, and by Abu Ishaq al-Tha'labi in his "Tafsir" 7/196, via al-Husayn bin Dawud Sunayd, from Hajjaj bin Muhammad, with this chain. Note / Clarification: "Sarihah" means a free woman (a wife), and "surriyyah" means a slave-woman, as is made clear by the narration of Wahb bin Munabbih in "al-Mubtada'" (see "Fath al-Bari" by al-Hafiz Ibn Hajar 10/194), where he said: Sulayman (peace be upon him) had a thousand women: three hundred with dowries (free wives) and seven hundred slave-women.
