It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both); he said: Six hundred chairs used to be placed for Sulayman bin Dawud (peace be upon them both). Then the nobles of mankind would come and sit near him, then the nobles of the jinn would come and sit near the nobles of mankind. Then he would call the birds and they would shade them, then he would call the wind and it would carry them. He further said: "So he would travel in a single morning the distance of a month's journey."

Grading: Its chain is sahih. Technical note / Defect ('illah): In this narration Salm bin Junadah is alone in saying "six hundred chairs," while all the other students of Abu Mu'awiyah (Muhammad bin Khazim al-Darir) contradicted him and said "six hundred thousand chairs." Reference / Source: It was recorded by al-Tabari in his "Tafsir" 19/144 and his "Tarikh" 1/488 from Abu al-Sa'ib Salm bin Junadah, with this chain. Details of the narration: This narration has already passed under no. (3568) via Ishaq bin Rahawayh, from Abu Mu'awiyah.
