حدثنا أبو عبد الله محمد بن أحمد بن بُطّة الأصبهاني، حدثنا الحسن بن الجَهْم التّيْمي (3)، حدثنا الحسين بن الفَرَج، حدثنا محمد بن عمر الواقدي، حدثني شُرَيح بن يزيد، عن إبراهيم بن محمد بن زياد، عن أبيه، عن عبد الله بن بُسْر، قال: وَضَعَ رسولُ الله ﷺ يده على رأسي، فقال: "هذا الغلامُ يعيشُ قَرْنًا". قال: فعاش مئة سنة (1). قال الواقدي: لقول الله ﷿: ﴿وَقُرُونًا بَيْنَ ذَلِكَ كَثِيرًا﴾ [الفرقان:38]، فكان بين نُوحٍ وآدمَ عشرة قرون، وبينه وبين إبراهيم عشرة قُرون، فوُلِد إبراهيم خليل الرحمن على رأس ألفي سنة من خَلْق آدم (1).

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Busr (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) placed his blessed hand on my head and said: "This boy will live for a qarn (century)." The narrator says: So he lived for a hundred years. Al-Waqidi said: According to the saying of Allah Almighty, "And many generations (or centuries) in between" [Surah al-Furqan: 38], between Nuh and Adam (peace be upon them both) there were ten centuries, and between Nuh and Ibrahim (peace be upon them both) there were also ten centuries. So Ibrahim (peace be upon him), the Intimate Friend of the Most Merciful, was born two thousand years after the creation of Adam (peace be upon him).

Hadith 4061

أخبرنا أبو زكريا يحيى بن محمد العنبري، حدثنا محمد بن عبد السلام، حدثنا إسحاق بن إبراهيم، أخبرنا جرير، عن عُمارة بن القعقاع، عن أبي زرعة، عن أبي هريرة، قال: قال رسول الله ﷺ: "فيقولون: يا إبراهيم، أنتَ خَليل الرحمن، قد سمع بخُلّتِكما أهل السماوات وأهل الأرض" (2).
هذا حديث صحيح على شرط الشيخين، ولم يخرجاه (1).

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The people (on the Day of Resurrection, seeking intercession) will say: 'O Ibrahim, you are the Intimate Friend of the Most Merciful; the people of the heavens and the people of the earth have heard of your intimate friendship (close friendship with Allah).'"
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs, but they did not record it.

Hadith 4062

حدثنا أحمد بن سلمان الفقيه ببغداد، حدثنا هلال بن العلاء الرقي، حدثنا عبد الله بن جعفر، حدثنا عبيد الله بن عمرو، عن زيد بن أبي أُنيسة، عن عمرو بن مرة، عن عبد الله بن الحارث، قال: حدثنا جُندب، أنه سمع النبي ﷺ يقول قبل أن يُتوفّى: "إِنَّ الله قد اتَّخَذني خليلًا [كما اتَّخَذَ إبراهيم خليلًا] (2) " (3).
هذا حديث صحيح على شرط الشيخين، ولم يخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jundub (may Allah be pleased with him) that he heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say before his death: "Indeed, Allah has taken me as His khalil (intimate friend), just as He took Ibrahim (peace be upon him) as a khalil."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs, but they did not record it.

Hadith 4063

حدثنا أبو بكر محمد بن أحمد بن بالويه، حدثنا أحمد بن بشر المَرثَدِي، يحيى بن معين، حدثنا هشام بن يوسف، عن معمر، عن أيوب، عن عكرمة، عن ابن عباس: أن النبي ﷺ لما رأى الصور في البيت لم يدخُل حتى أُمر بها فنُحِّيَت، ورأى إبراهيم وإسماعيل بأيديهما الأزلام، فقال: "قاتلهم الله، واللهِ إِنِ اسْتَقسَما بالأزلام قط" (1).
هذا حديث صحيح على شرط البخاري.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw pictures in the House of Allah, he did not enter until he had given an order about them, and they were removed. He (peace and blessings be upon him) saw (there) pictures of Ibrahim and Isma'il (peace be upon them both) holding divining arrows in their hands. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "May Allah destroy them (the polytheists)! By Allah, the two of them never sought to know their fortune by these arrows."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Imam Bukhari.
