حدثني محمد بن صالح بن هانئ، حدثنا أبو زكريا يحيى بن محمد بن يحيى الشَّهيد، حدثنا أبو الربيع سليمان بن داود الزَّهْراني، حدثنا محمد بن ثابت، حدثنا مَعبَد بن خالد الأنصاري، عن يزيد الرَّقَاشي، عن أنس بن مالك، قال: قال رسول الله ﷺ: "كان فيما خلا من إخواني من الأنبياء ثمانيةُ آلاف نبيٍّ، ثم كان عيسى ابن مريم، ثم كنت أنا بعدَه" (1).

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Among my brothers who passed before me, the number of prophets was eight thousand; then came Isa bin Maryam (peace be upon him), and then after him I was sent."

(1) إسناده ضعيف لضعف يزيد الرقاشي - وهو ابن أبان - وجهالة معبد بن خالد الأنصاري، ومحمد بن ثابت - وهو العبدي - ليس بالمتين.
Grading: Its chain is weak.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): Its weakness is due to the weakness of Yazid al-Raqashi (Ibn Aban), Ma'bad bin Khalid al-Ansari being unknown (majhul), and Muhammad bin Thabit al-'Abdi not being solid.
وأخرجه أبو يعلى في "مسنده" (4092)، وابن عدي في "الكامل" 6/ 135 من طريق أبي الربيع الزهراني، بهذا الإسناد.
Reference / Source: It was recorded by Abu Ya'la in his "Musnad" (4092) and Ibn 'Adi in "al-Kamil" 6/135 via Abu al-Rabi' al-Zahrani, with this chain.
وقد تقدم برقم (4221) من طريق أخرى عن يزيد الرقاشي، دون ذكر عيسى.
Details of the narration: This narration has already passed under no. (4221) via another route from Yazid al-Raqashi, without the mention of 'Isa (peace be upon him).
Grading: Its chain is weak.
