Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 4150

It is narrated from Wahb bin Munabbih (may Allah have mercy on him) that he said: "Harun bin Imran (peace be upon him) was eloquent of tongue (sweet-spoken) and clear in speech. He spoke very deliberately, and whatever he said, he said with knowledge and forbearance. He was taller in stature than Musa (peace be upon him), older in age, fuller in build, whiter in complexion and broader in the shoulders. Musa (peace be upon him), on the other hand, was a man with curly hair, a wheat-coloured complexion and tall stature, as though he were one of the men of the tribe of Shanu'ah. Allah Almighty did not send any prophet except that the mark (seal) of prophethood was on his right hand, except for our Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), for his (peace and blessings be upon him) seal of prophethood was between his two shoulders. Our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked about this, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: 'This seal of prophethood between my shoulders is like the seal of the prophets before me (though its place differs), because after me there will be no prophet and no messenger will come.'"

Hadith Grading
Hadith Takhrij «
Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: Its chain is wahin (extremely weak), as al-Dhahabi said in several places in "al-Talkhis".
Technical note / Defect ('illah): The reason is Abd al-Mun'im (bin Idris), who is matruk (abandoned), and Imam Ahmad declared him a liar.
Important point: It is authentically established regarding the description of Musa (peace be upon him) that he had curly hair, a brown complexion and was tall, as though he were one of the men of Shanu'ah. This is established from the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) describing him while speaking about the night of his Night Journey (Isra'), as recorded by al-Bukhari (3239) and others from the hadith of Ibn Abbas.
Important point: The presence of the Seal of Prophethood between the shoulders of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) is also established by authentic hadiths.
Reference / Source: It is narrated from the hadith of Abu Rimthah in Ahmad 11/ (7109), from the hadith of al-Sa'ib bin Yazid in al-Bukhari (190) and Muslim (2345), from the hadith of Abu Zayd al-Ansari in Ahmad 34/ (20732), and from the hadith of Abd Allah bin Sarjis in Ahmad 34/ (20770) and Muslim (2346).
Details of the narration: Its mention will also come in the hadith of 'A'ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) (coming under no. 4222), in the hadith of Salman al-Farisi about the story of his acceptance of Islam (no. 6688), and in the hadith of Rumaythah (no. 7102).
