It is narrated from Wahb bin Munabbih (may Allah have mercy on him) that he said: Allah Almighty informed Musa (peace be upon him) of the death of Harun (peace be upon him) when Allah intended to take his soul. When Allah informed him of his death, he grieved. Then when his soul was taken, Musa (peace be upon him) was extremely distressed and wept for a long time. When he prolonged this weeping and lamenting, Allah Almighty turned to him, consoling and admonishing him, and said: "O Musa! It was not fitting for you to grieve over the loss of anything while I am with you, nor is it fitting that you attach your heart to anyone other than Me, nor that you take support from anyone other than Me, nor should this distress and weeping of yours over Harun be for anyone other than Me. How can you feel lonely for anything while you hear My speech? Or how can you grieve over the loss of anything of this world when I have chosen you for My messages and My speech?" And the narrator mentioned a long intimate supplication. Wahb said: When the soul of Harun (peace be upon him) was taken, Musa (peace be upon him) was one hundred and seventeen years old, and this happened three years before the end of the wandering in the wilderness of Tih (the punishment of wandering). When Harun (peace be upon him) died he was one hundred and twenty years old. Musa (peace be upon him) lived three years after him until he completed one hundred and twenty years, and the Children of Israel were scattered around him; at times they would gather around him and at times they would disperse.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: Its chain is wahin (extremely weak), as al-Dhahabi stated decisively in several places in "al-Talkhis". Technical note / Defect ('illah): The reason is "Abd al-Mun'im bin Idris", who is matruk al-hadith (abandoned in hadith), and Imam Ahmad declared him a liar.
