(2). It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: A palm appeared from the sky with a white hair between two of its fingers. It came closer and closer to the head of Sayyiduna Ibrahim (peace be upon him) until it was right near, and it placed that hair on his head and said: "Shine with dignity." Then Allah Almighty revealed to him that he should purify himself, so he performed ablution (wudu). Then Allah revealed to him that he should purify himself, so he took a ritual bath (ghusl). Then Allah revealed to him that he should purify himself (that is, be circumcised). He was the first person whose hair turned white and the first to be circumcised. And Allah Almighty also revealed to Sayyiduna Ibrahim (peace be upon him) some of what He revealed to Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) in the Qur'an. Among what was revealed to him was: "Those who repent, who worship, who praise, who travel (in devotion), who bow, who prostrate, who enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong, and who guard the limits of Allah; and give glad tidings to the believers" [Surah al-Tawbah: 112]; and from "Successful indeed are the believers" up to His saying: "who will inherit al-Firdaws, abiding therein eternally" [Surah al-Mu'minun: 1-11]; and this verse of Surah al-Ahzab: "Indeed, the Muslim men and Muslim women" to the end [Surah al-Ahzab: 35]; and these verses of Sa'ala Sa'il (Surah al-Ma'arij): from "those who are constant in their prayer" up to His saying: "and those who stand firm in their testimonies" [Surah al-Ma'arij: 23-33]. None fulfilled these portions (commands) except Sayyiduna Ibrahim, the Intimate Friend of Allah, and Sayyiduna Muhammad, may Allah send blessings upon them both.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
2/ 391. Note / Clarification: This is how the word appears in our manuscripts, and it is the reading of the majority, in the singular, while Hafs from 'Asim read it in the plural, and that is also the reading of Ya'qub. Reference / Source: See Ibn al-Jazari's "al-Nashr" (2/391).
Grading: Its chain is da'if (weak). Technical note / Defect ('illah): The cause of the weakness is the narrator "Abu 'Abd al-Malik", who is "'Ali bin Yazid al-Alhani". Abu 'Abd al-Rahim is "Khalid bin Abi Yazid al-Harrani".
