It is narrated from Wahb bin Munabbih (may Allah have mercy on him) that he said: The account of the death of the chosen Prophet of Allah, Musa (peace be upon him), was related to me: he would take shade only in a shelter (hut) and would eat and drink from a hollowed stone vessel, and, displaying utmost humility and lowliness before Allah Almighty, he would drink water from that stone by putting his mouth to it like an animal, until Allah Almighty bestowed on him the great honour of His speech. His death came about in this way: one day he went out of that hut of his for some need, and none of Allah's creation knew of it. On the way he passed by a group of angels who were digging a grave. He recognised the angels and came and stood by them while they were digging the grave. Musa (peace be upon him) had never seen anything more beautiful, green, fresh and radiant than that grave. He asked the angels: "O angels of Allah! For whom are you digging this grave?" They replied: "By Allah! We are digging it for a servant of Allah who is greatly honoured by his Lord." Musa (peace be upon him) said: "Surely this servant holds a very high rank and station with Allah; I have never until today seen a better resting place and abode than this." This was at the time when the appointed moment from Allah Almighty for taking his soul had arrived. The angels said to him: "O chosen Prophet of Allah! Would you like to be that fortunate servant?" He said: "That is my wish too." The angels said: "Then go down, lie in it and turn towards your Lord, then take a breath easier and more restful than any you have ever taken before." So he went down, lay in that grave and turned towards his Lord, then he took a breath and Allah Almighty took his soul, and then the angels performed his funeral prayer. Indeed the chosen Prophet of Allah, Musa (peace be upon him), was indifferent to the world (an ascetic) and a seeker of the Hereafter.
An account of the tested and patient Prophet of Allah, Ayyub bin Amus (may the blessings of Allah be upon him).

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Reference / Source: It was recorded by al-Tabari in his "Tarikh" 1/ 433 from Muhammad bin Humayd al-Razi, from Salamah bin al-Fadl, with it. Corroborating chains and supporting reports: Something similar is narrated from Muhammad bin Ka'b al-Qurazi in the narration of Abu Hudhayfah Ishaq bin Bishr al-Bukhari (as in Ibn Asakir's "Tarikh Dimashq" 74/ 267), Technical note / Defect ('illah): but this Abu Hudhayfah is "matruk al-hadith" (abandoned in hadith) and Ibn al-Madini declared him a liar, and his shaykh Musa bin 'Ubaydah al-Rabadhi is "da'if al-hadith" (weak in hadith). (4152). Important point: What is correct in this matter is that Musa (peace be upon him) disliked death only when the Angel of Death came upon him suddenly; but after Allah gave him the choice, he chose death willingly, out of longing for the Hereafter, as has already passed in the hadith of Abu Hurayrah under no. (4152).
