It is narrated from Wahb bin Munabbih (may Allah have mercy on him) that he said: "The lineage of the Prophet of Allah Dawud (peace be upon him) is: Dawud bin Isha bin Uwbid bin Ba'az bin Salmun bin Nahshun bin Nadab bin Ram bin Hasrun bin Faras bin Yahudha bin Ya'qub bin Ishaq bin Ibrahim al-Khalil (peace be upon them). He was a man of short stature, with blue eyes, little hair, a pure heart, and he was a faqih (one of deep understanding)."

Note / Clarification: There are some differences in the spelling of these names in the manuscripts; we have fixed them according to the fourth chapter of the Book of Joshua in the Old Testament. See also: Ibn Makula's "al-Ikmal" 1/ 172, Ibn Hajar's "Fath al-Bari" 10/ 181, and al-'Ayni's "'Umdat al-Qari" 16/ 6.

Grading: Its chain is wahin (extremely weak), as al-Dhahabi said in several places in "al-Talkhis".
Reference / Source: The description of Dawud (peace be upon him) from it was recorded by al-Tabari in his "Tafsir" 2/ 626 and his "Tarikh" 1/ 476 via Muhammad bin Ishaq, from some people of knowledge, from Wahb bin Munabbih. However, he said at its end: "pure and clean of heart."
