1 hadith (8041 — 8041)

2 نِعْمَتَانِ مَغْبُونٌ فِيهِمَا كَثِيرٌ مِنَ النَّاسِ الصِّحَّةُ وَالْفَرَاغُ

Two blessings in which many people are cheated: health and free time

3 hadith (8042 — 8044)

3 الْأَنْبِيَاءُ أَشَدُّ بَلَاءً ثُمَّ الصَّالِحُونَ

The Prophets are the most severely tested, then the righteous

4 قَلْبُ ابْنِ آدَمَ مِثْلُ الْعُصْفُورِ يَتَقَلَّبُ

The heart of the son of Adam is like a sparrow, constantly turning

7 إِذَا مَرِضَ الْمُؤْمِنُ يُكْتَبُ عَمَلُهُ حَتَّى يَبْرَأَ أَوْ يَمُوتَ

When a believer falls ill his deeds continue to be recorded until he recovers or dies

8 إِنْ أَحَبَّ اللَّهُ عَبْدًا حَمَاهُ الدُّنْيَا

When Allah loves a servant He protects him from the world

9 حُلْوَةُ الدُّنْيَا مُرَّةُ الْآخِرَةِ ، وَمُرَّةُ الدُّنْيَا حُلْوَةُ الْآخِرَةِ

The sweetness of this world is the bitterness of the Hereafter, and the bitterness of this world is the sweetness of the Hereafter

Four things which, if present in you, mean that what you miss of the world will not harm you

Let your provision from the world be like the provisions of a rider

21 الرِّبَا كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ أَمْرِهِ إِلَى قُلٍّ

The end result of usury is decrease

If you relied on Allah He would provide for you as He provides for the birds

23 الْكَلَامُ فِي تَمْثِيلِ الدُّنْيَا

Discourse on the parable of the world

24 لَا يَكُونُ أَحَدٌ مُتَّقِيًا حَتَّى يَدَعَ مَا لَا بَأْسَ بِهِ حَذَرًا لِمَا بِهِ بَأْسٌ

No one becomes God-fearing until he leaves what is harmless out of caution for what is harmful

25 إِنَّ الصَّالِحِينَ يُشَدَّدُ عَلَيْهِمْ

The righteous are tested severely

Hearts are between two of the fingers of the Most Merciful

28 أَهْلُ الْمَعْرُوفِ فِي الدُّنْيَا هُمْ أَهْلُ الْمَعْرُوفِ فِي الْآخِرَةِ

The people of kindness in this world are the people of kindness in the Hereafter

29 أَشْقَى الِأَشْقِيَاءِ مَنِ اجْتَمَعَ عَلَيْهِ فَقْرُ الدُّنْيَا وَعَذَابُ الْآخِرَةِ

The most wretched of the wretched is one upon whom poverty in this world and punishment in the Hereafter are combined

30 مَنِ اسْتَحْيَا مِنَ اللَّهِ حَقَّ الْحَيَاءِ فَلْيَحْفَظِ الرَّأْسَ وَمَا حَوَى

Whoever is truly shy before Allah, let him guard the head and what it contains

31 مُكَالَمَةُ إِبْلِيسَ مَعَ جُنُودِهِ فِي أَمْرِ الْمُسْلِمِينَ

Iblis conversing with his soldiers about the Muslims

Status is wealth and nobility is God-consciousness

35 النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَكَلَ خَشِنًا وَلَبِسَ خَشِنًا

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ate coarse food and wore coarse clothing

36 إِيَّاكَ وَالطَّمِعَ فَإِنَّهُ الْفَقْرُ الْحَاضِرُ

Beware of greed, for it is present poverty

37 إِنَّمَا الْغِنَى غِنَى الْقَلْبِ ، وَالْفَقْرُ فَقْرُ الْقَلْبِ

True richness is richness of the heart and true poverty is poverty of the heart

38 قَلْبُ الشَّيْخِ شَابَ عَلَى حُبِّ طُولِ الْحَيَاةِ وَكَثْرَةِ الْمَالِ

The heart of an old man stays young in loving long life and much wealth

The traits of the friends of Allah

Whoever is scattered by worries, Allah does not care in which valley of the world he perishes

The grave is the first stage of the Hereafter

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) inviting a Bedouin to take retaliation from him

In Hell there is a well in which every tyrant will dwell
