It is narrated from Muhammad bin Wasi' al-Azdi (may Allah have mercy on him) that he said: I went to Bilal bin Abi Burdah bin Abi Musa and said: O Bilal! Your father told me, on the authority of your grandfather, that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, in Hell there is a valley, and in that valley there is a well called Habhab. It is a right upon Allah Almighty that He will lodge in it every tyrant and oppressor." So fear Allah lest you become one of its inhabitants.
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain of narration, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

Explanation & Benefits

Note / Clarification: In the manuscripts this word was written "hab hab", and what we have adopted is taken from the author's later narration (8980), and it agrees with the source works that recorded it.
Grading: Its chain is weak because of Azhar bin Sinan. Reference / Source: It was recorded by Ibn Abi Shaybah (13/165), al-Darimi (2858), Ibn Abi al-Dunya in "Sifat al-Nar" (35) and "al-Tawadu' wa al-Khumul" (225), Waki' in "Akhbar al-Qudat" (2/25), Abu Ya'la (7249), al-'Uqayli in "al-Du'afa'" (187), Ibn Hibban in "al-Majruhin" (1/178), Ibn 'Adi in "al-Kamil" (1/430), Abu Bakr al-Isma'ili in "al-Mu'jam" (261), Abu Nu'aym in "al-Hilyah" (2/355) and Ibn 'Asakir in "Tarikh Dimashq" (10/517), through the route of Yazid bin Harun, with this chain. Grading: Ibn Hibban said: this text has no basis. Abu Nu'aym said: Azhar is alone in narrating it from Muhammad (bin Wasi'). (8980). Note / Clarification: This hadith will come with the author through the route of Yazid bin Harun at no. (8980). Reference / Source: Al-Tabarani recorded it in "al-Awsat" (3548), al-Bayhaqi in "al-Ba'th wa al-Nushur" (479) and Ibn 'Asakir (14/303) through the route of Sa'id bin Sulayman, from Azhar bin Sinan. Important point: Al-Tabarani said: No one narrated this hadith from Muhammad bin Wasi' except Azhar bin Sinan, and it is not narrated from Abu Musa (al-Ash'ari) except with this chain.
