[التعليق - من تلخيص الذهبي] ترقيم العلميه 7880 - على شرط البخاري ومسلم
Abdul Rahman bin Yazid narrates that Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: You pray more and fast more than the Companions of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), yet they were better than you. People asked: "For what reason?" He said: They were more detached from the world than you, and far more eager for the Hereafter than you.
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record it.
