Note / Clarification: Explaining the words of the hadith "سجن المؤمن" (the prison of the believer), Imam al-Nawawi said: "Its meaning is that every believer is a prisoner in this world, held back from forbidden and disliked desires and charged with performing arduous acts of obedience; so when he dies he finds rest from this, and he goes on to the lasting bliss and pure rest, free of all troubles, that Allah the Exalted has prepared for him."
والسَّنَة، بفتح السين وتخفيف النون: الجَدْب والقحط.
Note / Clarification: The word "السَّنَة" (with a fathah on the sin and a light nun) means drought and famine.
