It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever begins his morning with his (real) aim and concern being something other than Allah has no connection with Allah; and whoever does not care about the affairs of the Muslims (and their pains and sorrows) is not one of them."

Hadith Grading
Hadith Takhrij «
Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Clarification: Manuscripts (K) and (M) have the words: "فليس من الله في شيء" (he has no share in anything from Allah), whereas the text we have established is taken from manuscripts (Z) and (B).

Grading: Its chain is halik (utterly ruined).
Technical note / Defect ('illah): Ishaq bin Bishr (Abu Hudhayfah al-Bukhari) and his shaykh Muqatil bin Sulayman are both accused of lying (muttaham bil-kadhib). Al-Dhahabi declared it defective in "al-Talkhis" because of these two and said: "Ishaq and Muqatil are neither trustworthy nor truthful."
Reference / Source: Abu al-Qasim bin Bishran recorded it in "al-Amali" (396, 547, 1034) from Abd al-Baqi bin Qani', with this same chain, and said: "It is gharib from the hadith of Hammad bin Abi Sulayman from Ibrahim, and it is gharib from the hadith of Muqatil bin Sulayman from Hammad; Ishaq bin Bishr is alone in narrating it."
Reference / Source: This narration has already passed with the author (al-Hakim) at number (8087) via this same Ishaq bin Bishr, but there it is narrated as the hadith of Hudhayfah.
