مَنْ تَشَاعَبَتْ بِهِ الْهُمُومُ لَمْ يُبَالِ اللَّهُ فِي أَيِّ أَوْدِيَةِ الدُّنْيَا هَلَكَ
Whoever is scattered by worries, Allah does not care in which valley of the world he perishes

وقد حدَّثنا بالحديث على وجهه أبو بكر إسماعيل بن محمد الفقيه بالرَّيّ، حدثنا أبو حاتم محمد بن إدريس، حدثنا عفّان بن مُسلِم، حدثنا عبد الحميد بن بَهْرام، حدثنا شَهْر بن حَوْشَب حدثنا عبد الرحمن بن غَنْم، عن شدَّاد بن أوس قال: سمعتُ رسول الله ﷺ يقول: "من صلَّى وهو يُرائي، مَن صام وهو يُرائي، فقد أشرَكَ، ومن تصدَّق يُرائي فقد أشركَ" (1).

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Shaddad bin Aws (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "Whoever prays to show off, and whoever fasts to show off, has certainly committed shirk; and whoever gives charity to show off has certainly committed shirk as well."

(1) إسناده ضعيف لضعف شهر بن حوشب، قال صالح بن محمد البغدادي: روى عنه عبد الحميد بن بهرام أحاديث طوالًا عجائب. وساق له ابن عدي في "الكامل" 4/ 40 هذا الحديث من منكراته، ثم قال: يروي عنه عبد الحميد بن بهرام أحاديث غيرها، وعامّة ما يرويه هو وغيره من الحديث فيه من الإنكار ما فيه، وشهر هذا ليس بالقوي في الحديث، وهو ممن لا يحتج بحديثه، ولا يُتديَّن به.
Grading: Its chain is weak due to the weakness of Shahr bin Hawshab.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): Salih bin Muhammad al-Baghdadi said: 'Abd al-Hamid bin Bahram narrated long, strange hadiths from him. Ibn 'Adi cited this hadith among his munkar reports in "al-Kamil" (4/40) and said: "'Abd al-Hamid bin Bahram narrates other hadiths from him as well, and most of what he and others narrate from him contains some objectionable matter. This Shahr is not strong in hadith, and he is among those whose hadith is not taken as proof nor adopted as religion."
وأخرجه أحمد 4/ (17140) عن أبي النضر عن عبد الحميد - يعني ابن بهرام - قال: قال شهر بن حوشب قال ابن غنم فذكره مطولًا.
Reference / Source: Ahmad (4/17140) recorded it from Abu al-Nadr, from 'Abd al-Hamid (Ibn Bahram), who said: Shahr bin Hawshab said: Ibn Ghanm said, and he mentioned it at length.
