حدثنا أبو بكر محمد بن جعفر الأَدَمي القارئ ببغداد، حدثنا أبو جعفر أحمد بن عُبيد بن ناصح، حدثنا خالد بن عمرو القُرشي، حدثنا سفيان الثَّوري، عن أبي حازم، عن سَهْل بن سعد: أن النبيَّ ﷺ وَعَظَ رجلًا فقال: "ارْهَدْ في الدنيا يُحبّك الله ﷿، وازهَدْ فيما في أيدي الناسِ يُحبَّك الناسُ" (2).
هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sahl bin Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), advising a man, said: "Be detached from the world and Allah will love you; and be free of need for what people possess, and people will love you."
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain of narration, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

Hadith 8072

أخبرني إبراهيم بن عِصْمة بن إبراهيم العَدْل، حدثنا أبي، حدثنا يحيى بن يحيى، أخبرنا إبراهيم بن سعد، عن ابن شهاب، عن محمد بن عبد الرحمن بن ماعز العامري، عن سفيان بن عبد الله الثَّقفي قال: قلتُ: يا رسول الله، حدِّثني بأمرٍ أعتَصِم به، قال: "قل: ربِّيَ اللهُ، ثم استقم قال: قلت: يا رسولَ الله، ما أكثرُ ما أخافُ عليَّ؟ قال: فأخذ بلسان نفسه ثم قال: "هذا" (1)
هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sufyan bin Abdullah al-Thaqafi (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: I said, "O Messenger of Allah, tell me something that I may hold on to (firmly)." He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Say: My Lord is Allah, then remain steadfast upon it." I said, "O Messenger of Allah, what do you fear most for me?" So he (peace and blessings be upon him) took hold of his blessed tongue and said: "This."
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain of narration, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

Hadith 8073

حدثنا أبو بكر بن إسحاق، أخبرنا محمد بن غالب، حدثنا إسحاق بن عبد الواحد القُرشي، حدثنا هُشَيم، عن عبد الرحمن بن إسحاق، عن مُحارِب بن دِثار، عن صِلَة بن زُفَر، عن حُذيفة قال: قال رسول الله ﷺ: "النَّظَرةُ سهمٌ من سِهام إبليسَ مسمومةٌ، فمن تَرَكَها من خوفِ [الله] (1) أثابه جل وعزَّ إيمانًا يَجِدُ حلاوتَه في قلبِه" (2).
هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A glance (at a non-mahram) is one of the poisoned arrows of Iblis. Whoever abandons it out of fear of Allah, Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, will grant him (in return) a faith whose sweetness he will find in his heart."
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain of narration, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.
