Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Note / Clarification: This is an addition from the sources of takhrij.
Grading: Its chain is da'if (weak).
Technical note / Defect ('illah): Abd al-Rahman bin Ishaq (who is Ibn al-Harith al-Wasiti) is weak, and he was greatly inconsistent (idtarab) in this hadith, as will come. Also Ishaq bin Abd al-Wahid al-Qurashi is "layyin al-hadith" (soft in hadith).
Reference / Source: Al-Khara'iti recorded it in "I'tilal al-Qulub" (273), al-Quda'i in "Musnad al-Shihab" (292) and Ibn al-Jawzi in "Dhamm al-Hawa" (p. 139), through two routes from Ishaq bin Abd al-Wahid, with this same chain.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): In al-Quda'i (293), Artat bin Habib differed from Ishaq bin Abd al-Wahid: he narrated it from Hushaym, from Abd al-Rahman bin Ishaq, from Muharib bin Dithar, from Ibn 'Umar, from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
Note / Clarification: Artat was mentioned by Ibn Hibban in "al-Thiqat".
Technical note / Defect ('illah): Both of them were contradicted by Huraym bin Sufyan in al-Tabarani's "al-Kabir" (10362): he narrated it from Abd al-Rahman bin Ishaq, from al-Qasim bin Abd al-Rahman, from his father, from Abdullah bin Mas'ud, from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
Technical note / Defect ('illah): All of them were contradicted by Muhammad bin Marwan in Ibn al-Jawzi's "Dhamm al-Hawa" (pp. 90 and 140): he narrated it from Abd al-Rahman bin Ishaq, from al-Nu'man bin Sa'd, from 'Ali, from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
Grading: This al-Nu'man is majhul (unknown). Al-Hafiz Ibn Hajar said: the one who narrates from him (i.e. Abd al-Rahman bin Ishaq) is weak, so his report cannot be used as proof.
Corroborating chains and supporting reports: On this topic there is a report from Abu Umamah in Ahmad (36/ 22278), whose wording is: "There is no Muslim who looks at the beauty of a woman for the first time, then lowers his gaze, but that Allah brings about for him an act of worship whose sweetness he finds."
Grading: And its chain is very weak.
Corroborating chains and supporting reports: And from Ibn 'Umar in Abu Nu'aym's "al-Hilyah" (6/ 101), and through his route in Ibn al-Jawzi (p. 139).
Grading: In its chain is Abu Mahdi Sa'id bin Sinan al-Himsi, and he is matruk (abandoned).
Corroborating chains and supporting reports: And from 'A'ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) in Abu Nu'aym's "al-Hilyah" (12/ 187), and through his route in Ibn al-Jawzi (p. 140).
Grading: In its chain is 'Ismah bin Muhammad, who is accused of lying (muttaham bil-kadhib).
Corroborating chains and supporting reports: And from Anas in Ibn al-Jawzi (pp. 90 - 91).
Grading: In its chain is Abd al-'Aziz bin Abd al-Rahman al-Qurashi al-Balisi, and he is accused of lying.
