أخبرنا عبد الله بن محمد بن إسحاق الخُزَاعي بمكة حرسها الله تعالى، حدثنا أبو يحيى بن أبي مَسَرَّة، حدثنا عبد الله بن يزيد المُقرئ، حدثنا موسى بن عُلَي بن رَبَاح، قال: سمعتُ أبي يقول: سمعت عمرو بن العاص يقول، وهو يخطُبُ الناسَ بمصر: ما أبعدَ هَدْيَكم من هَدْي نبيِّكم-ﷺ، أمّا هو فكان أزهدَ الناسِ في الدنيا، وأمّا أنتم فأرغَبُ الناسِ فيها (1).
هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Amr bin al-As (may Allah be pleased with him) that, while addressing the people in a sermon in Egypt, he said: "How far your way is from the way of your Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)! He (peace and blessings be upon him) was the most abstinent of people with regard to this world, whereas you are the most eager of people for it."
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain of narration, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.
