It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If a man were to do a deed inside a rock that has neither a door nor an opening, his deed would still come out before the people, whatever it may be."
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain of narration, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Note / Clarification: In the manuscripts the word "بن" has been wrongly inserted after (the name) Hafs.
Note / Clarification: The text between the two square brackets had dropped out of the manuscripts; we have supplied it from al-Bayhaqi's "Shu'ab al-Iman" (6541), where he narrated it from al-Hakim with this same chain. Technical note / Defect ('illah): Moreover, Ahmad bin 'Isa al-Misri does not narrate directly from 'Amr bin al-Harith; rather, he narrates from him through Abdullah bin Wahb.
Grading: Its chain is weak. Technical note / Defect ('illah): The reason is the weakness of the narration of Darraj (Ibn Sam'an Abu al-Samh) when he narrates from Abu al-Haytham (Sulayman bin 'Amr al-'Utwari). Reference / Source: Ibn Hibban (5678) recorded it via Harmalah bin Yahya, from Abdullah bin Wahb, from 'Amr bin al-Harith, with this same chain. Details of the narration: He added at its beginning: "Whoever humbles himself for Allah by one degree, Allah raises him by one degree, until He places him in the highest of 'Illiyyin; and whoever is arrogant towards Allah by one degree, Allah lowers him by one degree, until He places him in the lowest of the low." Reference / Source: Imam Ahmad (17/ 11230/ 1) recorded it via Ibn Lahi'ah, from Darraj, in the same way. Important point: This hadith will come later at number (8134) via Khalid bin Khidash, who narrates from Ibn Wahb.
