إِذَا كَانَ أَوَّلُ لَيْلَةٍ مِنْ رَمَضَانَ صُفِّدَتِ الشَّيَاطِينُ
When the first night of Ramadan comes, the devils are chained
2 وَإِنَّ رِيحَ الصَّوْمِ رِيحُ الْمِسْكِThe smell of the fasting person is the scent of musk
3 الدَّعْوَةُ عِنْدَ الْفِطْرِSupplication when breaking the fast
4 الطَّاعِمُ الشَّاكِي مِثْلُ الصَّائِمِ الصَّابِرِThe one who eats and is grateful is like the one who fasts and is patient
5 قَبُولُ شَهَادَةِ الْوَاحِدِ عَلَى رُؤْيَةِ هِلَالِ رَمَضَانَAccepting the testimony of one person to sighting the crescent of Ramadan
6 مَنْ صَامَ الشَّكَّ فَقَدْ عَصَى أَبَا الْقَاسِمِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ -Whoever fasts the day of doubt has disobeyed Abu al-Qasim (peace and blessings be upon him)
7 أَحْصُوا هِلَالَ شَعْبَانَ لِرَمَضَانَKeep count of the crescent of Sha'ban for Ramadan
8 الْفَجْرُ الْأَوَّلُ لَا يُحَرِّمُ الطَّعَامَ وَلَا يُحِلُّ الصَّلَاةَThe first dawn neither forbids food nor makes the prayer permissible
9 الِاسْتِعَانَةُ بِطَعَامِ السَّحَرِ عَلَى الصِّيَامِ وَبِالْقَيْلُولَةِ عَلَى الْقِيَامِSeeking help for fasting through the pre-dawn meal and for night prayer through the midday nap
10 الْإِفْطَارُ مِنَ الْقَيْءِVomiting breaking the fast
11 إِذَا اسْتَقَاءَ الصَّائِمُ أَفْطَرَ وَإِذَا ذَرَعَهُ الْقَيْءُ لَمْ يُفْطِرْIf the fasting person makes himself vomit he breaks his fast, and if vomit overcomes him he does not
12 مَنْ ذَرَعَهُ الْقَيْءُ فَلَيْسَ عَلَيْهِ قَضَاءٌ وَمَنِ اسْتَقَاءَ فَلْيَقْضِWhoever is overcome by vomit owes no make-up, and whoever makes himself vomit must make it up
13 أَفْطَرَ الْحَاجِمُ وَالْمَحْجُومُThe one who cups and the one cupped have broken their fast
14 رُخْصَةُ الْحِجَامَةِ لِلصَّائِمِThe permission of cupping for the fasting person
15 عَذَابُ مَنْ أَفْطَرَ قَبْلَ وَقْتِهِThe punishment of one who breaks the fast before its time
16 مَنْ أَفْطَرَ فِي رَمَضَانَ نَاسِيًا فَلَا قَضَاءَ عَلَيْهِ وَلَا كَفَّارَةَWhoever breaks his fast in Ramadan out of forgetfulness owes neither make-up nor expiation
17 جَوَازُ الْقُبْلَةِ لِلصَّائِمِThe permissibility of kissing for the fasting person
18 تَعْجِيلُ الْإِفْطَارِHastening to break the fast
19 اسْتِحْبَابُ الْإِفْطَارِ عَلَى التَّمْرِThe recommendation to break the fast with dates
20 الْإِفْطَارُ قَبْلَ الصَّلَاةِBreaking the fast before the prayer
21 الصَّوْمُ فِي السَّفَرِFasting while travelling
22 لَيْسَ مِنَ الْبِرِّ الصِّيَامُ فِي السَّفَرِFasting while travelling is not righteousness
23 إِجَازَةُ الصَّوْمِ فِي السَّفَرِThe permissibility of fasting while travelling
24 صَوْمُ شَعْبَانَFasting in Sha'ban
25 مَنْعُ صِيَامِ أَيَّامِ التَّشْرِيقِ وَيَوْمِ النَّحْرِThe prohibition of fasting the days of Tashriq and the day of sacrifice

29 لَا تَصُومُ امْرَأَةٌ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِ زَوْجِهَاA woman should not fast except with her husband's permission
30 وَجْهُ النَّهْيِ عَنْ صَوْمِ يَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِThe reason for the prohibition of fasting on Friday
