It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the very elderly man was given the concession not to fast and to feed one poor person for each day, and no making up (qada) of the fasts is due from him.
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Imam Bukhari, and they did not record it.
