Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 1584

Sayyiduna Abu Umamah al-Bahili (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "While I was sleeping, suddenly two men came to me. They took hold of me by my upper arms, brought me to a rugged mountain and said to me: Climb it. I said: I am not able to. They said: We will make it easy for you. So I climbed up, until, when I was in the middle of the mountain, I suddenly heard terrible cries. I asked: What are these sounds? They said: These are the howls of the people of Hellfire. Then I was taken further, and I saw some people hanging upside down by their hamstrings, the corners of their mouths torn and flowing with blood. I asked: Who are these people? They said: These are the people who used to break their fast before the time of iftar (without any valid legal excuse)."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Imam Muslim, but the two Shaykhs did not record it.
