حدثنا أبو النَّضر الفقيه في آخَرِين من مشايخنا؛ قال أبو النَّضر: حدثنا إمامُ المسلمين في عصره أبو بكر محمد بن إسحاق بن خُزَيمة، أسكَنَه الله جنّتَه، حدثنا محمد بن علي بن مُحْرِز البغداديُّ بالفُسْطاط بخبرٍ غريبٍ، حدثنا أبو أحمد الزُّبيري، حدثنا سفيان، عن ابن جُرَيج، عن عطاء، عن ابن عباس قال: قالَ رسولُ الله ﷺ: "الفجرُ فجرانِ: فأما الأولُ فإنَّه لا يُحرِّم الطعامَ ولا يُحِلُّ الصلاة، وأما الثاني فإنه يُحرِّم الطعامَ، ويُحِلُّ الصلاة" (1). هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد، ولم يُخرجاه. وشاهدُه:
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Dawn is of two kinds: the first is that which does not make eating forbidden (for the fasting person), nor does the (Fajr) prayer become permissible with it; and the second is that which makes eating forbidden and makes the prayer permissible."
The chain of this hadith is sahih, but the two Shaykhs did not record it. It has a supporting report, which is the following hadith:

Grading: It is sahih as "mawquf" (stopping at Ibn 'Abbas, may Allah be pleased with him). Criticism of a narrator: Abu Ahmad al-Zubayri (Muhammad bin 'Abd Allah), Sufyan al-Thawri, Ibn Jurayj and 'Ata' bin Abi Rabah are among its narrators. وهو مكرر (699). Note / Clarification: This narration has already passed earlier at number (699).
