Silah bin Zufar (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates: We were with Sayyiduna Ammar bin Yasir (may Allah be pleased with him), and he ordered a roasted goat to be brought and said: "Eat." Some of the people moved back and said that they were fasting. At this Sayyiduna Ammar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Whoever fasts on the day of doubt has certainly disobeyed Abu al-Qasim (peace and blessings be upon him)."
This hadith is sahih on the condition of the two Shaykhs, but the two Shaykhs did not record it.

Grading: The chain is strong (qawi) on account of Abu Khalid al-Ahmar (Sulayman bin Hayyan). Criticism of a narrator: Abu Ishaq refers to 'Amr bin 'Abd Allah al-Sabi'i. Reference / Source: Abu Dawud (2334), Ibn Majah (1645) and Ibn Hibban (3596) narrated it via the route of Muhammad bin 'Abd Allah bin Numayr, and al-Tirmidhi (686), al-Nasa'i (2509) and Ibn Hibban via the route of 'Abd Allah bin Sa'id al-Ashajj (both from Abu Khalid al-Ahmar). Imam al-Tirmidhi declared it "hasan sahih".
